HISTOPATHOLOGIC AND CYTOLOGIC TECHNIQUES ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Our BSMT 4 interns continued their journey toward board examination readiness as they took on Histopathologic and Cytologic Techniques under the Medical Technology Assessment Program 2 and Seminar 2.
This subject brings together the science and precision behind the preparation and examination of tissues and cells for the detection of disease. From proper specimen handling and fixation to tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and cytologic preparation, every step requires accuracy and a keen eye for detail. Understanding tissue architecture and cellular morphology is essential in recognizing normal findings and identifying pathological changes.
To put their knowledge into practice, the interns participated in an intensive lecture session followed by an assessment examination that measured their grasp of essential concepts and laboratory procedures. A reinforcement examination was then administered to further challenge their ability to analyze findings, apply concepts, and make sound decisions within the time constraints expected in a board examination setting.
More than simply measuring academic performance, this stage of the Enrichment Program provides our interns with an opportunity to identify areas for improvement, strengthen their confidence, and develop the discipline needed for the licensure examination.
Presented below are the Top 15 scorers based on the combined results of the assessment and reinforcement examinations. May their achievement encourage all our interns to keep learning, keep improving, and continue pursuing excellence as future Medical Technologists.
