𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺 𝟯-𝗔 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 “𝗕𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗸𝗮, 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗮"

On April 23, Comm 3-A students conducted a talk show titled “Bida ka, Diva” as part of their Midterm Requirement, held at the Theater Room, Smith Hall, Tarlac State University.

Featuring Ms. Shanana Ronia Paulino as the guest speaker, she narrated her journey as a mother, entrepreneur, and self-made “Filipino diva,” balancing motherhood and business, highlighting that being a diva is not about glamour or gender, but about handling responsibilities with dedication.

During the talk show, Ms. Paulino participated in two interactive games, giving students the chance to engage with her and see her personality and insights in action. Moreover, she did a live demonstration of her famous dessert, Krema Mango Loco, showing that being an entrepreneur also involves creativity.

The concept behind the talk show stemmed from the idea of "women in men's fields," not in the context of glamorization of Western culture, but in a sense of hard work and relatable hustle.

The program wrapped up with expressions of gratitude towards the speaker and appreciation for the team behind the event, leaving students inspired and empowered.

𝗧𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 ‘𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆-𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲’ 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄

BA Communication 3B students from Tarlac State University (TSU) explored the complexities of social media accountability and resilience during a talk show titled “Guilty or Not Guilty” held at the Smith Hall Theater Room on April 22.

Organized by BA Communication 3B Group 2, the event adopted a vibrant Legally Blonde aesthetic—dubbed "The Pink Courtroom"—to provide a platform for discussing the modern phenomenon of cancel culture and its psychological impact on individuals.

The production featured guest speaker Fatima Malonzo, a content creator and beauty queen, who shared her personal journey navigating online criticism. Malonzo, who has faced bashing and scrutiny related to her disability, spoke on the importance of maintaining mental fortitude despite public judgment.

“Siguro kahit naranasan ko man iyon, patuloy pa rin po akong nagiging matatag [at] patuloy pa rin akong tumatayo sa kung ano po yung nakasanayan ko,” Malonzo told the audience.

Encouraging the students to persevere in their respective passions, she added: “Do what you love, and love what you do.”

The program was staged under the direction of Leanna Kaylee Manuel, who noted that the topic was selected specifically for its prevalence in the digital age.

Manuel described the production process as a highly collaborative effort. While she focused on the technical elements, including the script, poster, and overall visual design, her co-director managed the pre-production phase.

The event concluded with a call for more empathetic digital discourse, bridging the gap between social media accountability and the human capacity for growth.

Fourth-year Communication students hosted a seminar entitled "Breaking the Spotlight: Media Convergence and Personal Branding in the Philippine Entertainment Industry" on May 4 at the CASS Theatre Room.

Led by the last group students of 4B— composed of Lharie Miranda, Jamila De Lara, Matthew Antonio, Princess Villanueva, and Kimberly Feliciano—the session aimed to guide the audience toward becoming media professionals. The seminar focused on bridging the gap between the classroom and the industry through personal brand building, digital content creation, and career-academic balance.

The event featured Mr. Geuel Dann Quibuyen, a Viva Entertainment actor and an alumnus of the Psychology department in TSU, shared his journey and experiences into the media industry while emphasizing the value of taking the first step.

"Take your first risk, show-up, keep going—because your journey from a student to becoming more starts today," Mr. Quibuyen said.

The event ended with a resounding success, marked by the awarding of certificate and photo opportunity.

𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙨 | 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

A seminar titled “From Concept to Creation: The Role of a Multimedia Artist in Modern Communication” was conducted on May 4, 2026, aiming to deepen students’ understanding of multimedia arts and its growing role in modern communication.

The seminar explored how creative concepts are transformed into impactful visual stories while introducing participants to the essential skills and opportunities within the multimedia industry.

The program was organized by Maria Scult Valencia, Abimael Viray, Lorie Joy Manaloto, Kimberly Bautista, and Arleen Capulong, who each handled discussions relevant to the seminar’s core objective.

Valencia discussed the basics, media forms, and tools of multimedia arts, while Viray focused on balancing creativity and effective communication. Manaloto tackled the creative process behind multimedia production, Bautista discussed professional skills needed by multimedia artists, and Capulong highlighted the role of multimedia in public communication.

The seminar featured resource speaker Angilene Dableo, a multimedia artist and Cum Laude graduate of BA Communication from Tarlac State University. She previously served as Public Information Officer of the Communicators’ Guild and held key editorial positions in The Oracle, including Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Layout Artist, and Art Director.

Currently working at the Tarlac Provincial Tourism Office as a Graphic Artist, Writer, and Administrative Assistant II, Dableo was chosen as the seminar’s guest speaker because of her extensive experience in editorial leadership, graphic design, video editing, and writing. Through her professional journey, she shared practical insights and industry experiences that inspired participants to explore the creative and professional possibilities within multimedia communication.

Organizers concluded that the seminar provided valuable knowledge on the importance of multimedia arts in today’s communication landscape, encouraging students to develop both their creativity and technical skills for future media-related careers.
