Parables aren't written as simple stories. But as most of them were spoken by Jesus Christ, they were given to guide us and teach us to live uprightly and pleasing to God and men. Last April 1, 2026, in commemorating of the Lenten season, the League of Prospective Education was given the blessed opportunity to conduct a webinar entitled "Parables as Moral Guide."
For this event, we had the special honor of having Rev. Bishop Roderick P. Magno, a senior pastor, bishop, doctor, and reverend of Cornerstone International Christ Centered Fellowship, walk us through some of the oracles in Hebrew literature, as found in the Bible.
In his plenary talk, Rev. Magno emphasized not only the ability to recognize these moral stories, but also the ability to connect the deep truths hidden in these Hebrew literary works, their significance in this modern time, and the application of their lessons in real-life circumstances. As students, we are encouraged to heed these writings as they shape our character into the best version of ourselves.
These writings, which passed down through generations, still hold relevance and value in this modern time. This webinar has not only opened our eyes to the spiritual principles of these timeless writings, but Ancient manuscripts also reminded us of how powerful and transformative stories are, regardless of age and longevity.
