Eighty-three research presenters and participants across the country convened at the Aguman Ning Belwan 2026: 2nd International Multidisciplinary Research Conference, on March 25-27, at the dubbed Melting Pot of Central Luzon, transpiring within the Priscilla Hall, University Hotel, Tarlac State University - Lucinda Extension Campus in Tarlac City.
Hailing from the different terrains of the Philippines, the presenters and participants in flesh and on the web were welcomed with the well-versed remarks from the Provincial Governor of Tarlac Hon. Christian Tell A. Yap, Tarlac City Mayor Hon. Susan Yap-Sulit, TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, and Conference Convenor Engr. Robert V. Marcos, as the conference sets the stage for its opening day on March 25 (Wednesday).
Following the preliminary messages, the Plenary Sessions invited the presence of five powerhouse speakers personified by Dr. Marie Paz E. Morales (Philippine Normal University), Prof. Patrick C. De Leon (University of the Philippines Diliman Extension Programs in Pampanga and Olongapo), Dr. Gabriel Facal (Research Institute on Contemporary Southeast Asia - IRASEC, Bangkok), Prof. Aaron Raymond See (National Chin-Yi University of Technology), and Dr. Raymundo D. Rovillos (Pangasinan Polytechnic College). Woven into the theme of this yearโs conference โ๐พ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ฏ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐พ๐ค๐ก๐ก๐๐๐ค๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐ค๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐จ: ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎโ, each of the speakers tailored their talking points with topics on emerging research frameworks, interdisciplinarity, technological innovations, and indigenous peoplesโ studies.
With the morning affairs wrapping up through a productive discourse between the speakers and participants, the afternoon segment wired a new wave of energy via a Special Forum Session on โ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐-๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ค๐ช๐จ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐พ๐ค๐ข๐ข๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ: ๐๐จ๐จ๐ช๐๐จ, ๐พ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐๐จ, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ค๐ง๐ฉ๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐จโ, co-hosted by the Center for Peace, Indigenous Peoplesโ Resources and Development (CPIPRD) under the directorship of Dr. Ma. Elena D. David. The session featured the minds of Ms. Helen Biangalen-Magata (Tebtebba: Indigenous Peoples' International Centre for Policy, Research and Education), Asst. Prof. Norberto M. Nataรฑo (University of Rizal System), Mr. John Albert R. Dela Rosa (Bataan Peninsula State University), Mr. Bryan Jan S. Dizon (Tarlac State University), and Assoc. Prof Jesse P. Ordoรฑez Jr. (Pangasinan Polytechnic College). The five panel speakers sat before the inquisitive researchers as they opened the floor to tackle pressing research-related matters concerning IPs in the academic and community landscapes.
Assoc. Prof. Ordoรฑez Jr. closed the session with a reimagined statement for โTSUโ, capturing the essence of the forum in lingering words. โ...(T)rue passion to collaborate with IP communities goes beyond books, the classroom, and this forumโthat means, you need to do more. In order for us to (S)ustain our collaborative activities with IPs, we have to capacitate ourselves and we have to build better relationshipsโ(U)nderstanding comes in many formsโฆโ
As the second day unfolded on March 26 (Thursday), the hall shifted the spotlight onto the in-person and online presenters while they breathed life into their studies under the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, and Mathematics) and ABLESS (Arts, Business, Law, Education, and Social Sciences) categories. The 83 presenting researchers transformed the hall and the Zoom realm into a living gallery of innovative ideas, igniting sparks of curiosity that filled the interdisciplinary space with an active trade of inquiries and answers.
Coming to a swift conclusion on the following day, March 27, the remaining research presenters continued their command in the podium, clearing the queue to prompt the panel of evaluators to select which stood out as In-person and Online Best Paper Presentations for each of the two categories. Among the all-exceptional works, four papers hit the rubrics on the dot, satisfying the criteria on the studyโs content and clarity, novelty of findings, and timing during the presentation.
