Pursuant to the Universityโ€™s continuing obligation to ensure and promote the health, safety, and general welfare of all students, faculty members, and administrative personnel; in due consideration of the advisory issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) relative to the sustained increase in temperature and heat index levels; and upon due regard to the representations and requests of the Supreme Student Council Federation, SLSU Faculty Association, SLSU Employee Association, and SLSU Faculty and Employees Club, this Office hereby orders and authorizes the temporary relaxation of the existing dress code policies, effective immediately and to remain in full force and effect unless and until otherwise amended, superseded, or revoked by competent authority.

This temporary adjustment seeks to provide reasonable accommodation and mitigate the risks associated with heat-related stress and illness, while continuing to uphold the standards of decency, professionalism, and institutional decorum expected within the Universityโ€™s academic and administrative environments.

| Implementation of Compressed Four-Day Workweek for Non-Teaching Personnel, Implementation of Friday Work-From-Home (WFH) Arrangement for Teaching Personnel, and Energy Conservation Protocols

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026 issued by the Office of the President, which directs government agencies and encourages State Universities and Colleges to adopt energy conservation measures, and consistent with Republic Act No. 11285 (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act), Administrative Order No. 15, s. 2024, and Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 6, s. 2022, as amended by CSC MC No. 1, s. 2025, Southern Luzon State University hereby adopts a Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) consisting of a Compressed Four-Day Workweek for non-teaching personnel and a designated Friday Work-From-Home arrangement for teaching personnel.

The measure aims to:
1. Contribute to national energy conservation efforts;
2. Reduce electricity consumption and fuel usage;
3. Promote efficient utilization of government resources;
4. Optimize operational efficiency through flexible work arrangements; and
5. Ensure continuous, efficient, and uninterrupted delivery of academic, administrative, and support services.

SLSU Tiaong showcased an impressive performance in the recently concluded CBRC Inter-School 3rd National Teacher Education Quiz Bee (NTEQ) - Qualifying Round, held on March 1, 2026, represented by Anne Margaret Cuenca, Junelie Anne De Guinio, and Aicelle Gonzales.

Competing against participants from the College of Sciences, Technology, and Communications Inc. (CSTC), Batangas State University โ€“ San Juan, and Asian Institute of Technology and Education (AITE), Cuenca secured first place, while De Guinio finished second. Gonzales placed fifth out of 12 participants.

Notably, Lara Judiel Jader of CSTC was declared the Overall Champion of the competition and is set to represent CBRC Candelaria at the national level of the competition.

The commemoration of the 40th EDSA People Power Revolution serves as a reminder of the power of unity and peaceful movement to restore democratic governance. Hosted by the Office of the Student Regent (OSR) in collaboration with the Supreme Student Council Federation (SSCF), the 40th EDSA People Power Revolution Commemoration carries the theme: โ€œFrom People Power to Peopleโ€™s Participation: Civic Engagement and Democratic Spaces in the Philippines Today.โ€

The event will be held on February 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the BRC Hall, SLSU Hotel, and will also be streamed live via the official page of the SLSU Office of the Student Regent. Through this event, students are expected to deepen their historical awareness, strengthen their sense of social responsibility, and actively embody the values of participation and leadership in the community they serve.
