📍Orientation on Research and Development Services and Protocols
📆 March 26, 2026 | Petroleum Engineering Building, Palawan State University

The PalawanSU University Research and Creative Works Office (URCWO) successfully conducted the second leg of its visitation series at the Main Campus for the College of Engineering (CoE) and the College of Architecture and Design (CAD)!
This session focused on providing our faculty researchers with the essential tools and knowledge to navigate university protocols and excel in their scholarly endeavors.

Highlights of the session included:
✅️ RDI Agenda & Internal Funding: An in-depth look at the Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Agenda and the step-by-step process for securing internal research funding, led by Ms. Mishel Angielic G. Castro.
✅️ Institutional Targets: A discussion on the 2026 PrExC and PBB targets, including key indicators for publications and research utilization, presented by Ms. Alexes Mae C. Diaz.
✅️ Budgeting & Support: Guidance on research budget ceilings, allowable costs, and available faculty de-loading options to ensure researchers have the time and resources needed for their studies, presented by Ms. Marilyn M. Arenio.
✅️ Ethics & Integrity: A comprehensive overview of Research Ethics Processes and Protocols, including the three levels of ethical review, led by Ms. Cheah Mae Manlavi from the RERC/AJR staff.

The PalawanSU Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Division kicked off Phase 1 of its campus visitation series at the San Rafael Campus! Led by the Office of the VP for RDE, this initiative is part of our commitment to empowering our external campuses through streamlined protocols and enhanced technical skills.

Highlights of the session included:
✅️ RDE Protocols & Funding: Guidance on the 2026 RDI Agenda, internal funding, and publication incentives.
✅️ Proposal Development: A deep dive into crafting high-impact
proposals aligned with SDGs, led by Prof. Jerone Avel S. Cansino.
✅️ Technical Skills: A session on quantitative analysis and statistical tools.
✅️ Innovation & Commercialization: PITBI’s roadmap for turning research into viable startups.
✅️ Ethics & Integrity: A crucial discussion on Research Ethics Protocols to ensure the highest standards of academic inquiry.

📌 April 14–15, 2026 | PalawanSU Main Campus

Palawan State University, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) successfully completed a two-day capacity-building program and turnover ceremony for its new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (CAAQMS).

The installation of this system enhances the University's ability to conduct real-time air quality monitoring, environmental research, and science-based policy support. This initiative serves as a vital resource for academic instruction and supports data-driven environmental management within the region.

Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Panitikan ngayong Abril, ang Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK) Palawan State University ay magkakaroon ng aktibidad na pinamagatang 𝑴𝒂𝒊𝒌𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒏: 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒍𝒂𝒉𝒊, na gaganapin sa darating na Abril 17-18, 2026, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, sa Baragatan Function Hall, PSU Hostel. Ang aktibidad na ito na ay naglalayong palalimin ang pag-unawa sa iba’t ibang anyo ng maikling panitikan tulad ng flash fiction, micro-poetry, at maikling kuwento. Sa pamamagitan ng talakayan, pagsusuri ng mga halimbawa, at aktuwal na pagsulat, magkakaroon ang mga kalahok ng pagkakataong malinang ang kanilang malikhaing kakayahan at pagpapahalaga sa wika at kulturang Pilipino.

📌April 13, 2026 | PalawanSU Main Campus

Palawan State University, hosted a partnership discussion with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) to advance Project ESEM (Establishing Sites for Effective Monitoring of Stream and Marine Coastal Ecosystems).

The collaboration focused on streamlining field sampling, laboratory analysis, and data interpretation within the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. This meeting strengthens our collective pursuit of impactful environmental research and academic excellence.

Call for Proposals!

Sustainable Development Goals-Focused Research, Development, and Innovation Grants (SDG-RDIG)

The Commission, through the ACHIEVE Framework, is now accepting research proposals for the Sustainable Development Goals-Focused Research, Development, and Innovation Grants (SDG-RDIG).

The SDG-RDIG is a competitive grant that provides up to Ten Million Pesos (Php 10,000,000.00) per year, for a maximum project duration of three (3) years to successful consortia composed of at least three (3) participating Higher Education Institutions (HEI), inclusive of the Lead HEI.
