Today, June 9, the VSU Tolosa Department of Teacher Education successfully hosted the Tanglaw Awards 2026, recognizing the achievements of students, completers, awardees, and top performers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.
For the first time ever in the Tanglaw Awards history, the program featured DTE Talks: Topnotchers Unplugged, which allowed attendees to hear the raw and unplugged stories of the March 2026 LEPT Secondary Level topnotchers: Jeny Maica C. Permejo (Top 5), Jhomar A. Sagahay (Top 7), Jade Art O. Silvano (Top 9); and Jerlyn C. Cadion (Top 3) for the Elementary Level.
As the central objective of the Tanglaw Awards, the program formally recognized students, including Field Study completers, Pre-LEPT 2026 passers, special award recipients, Pre-LEPT topnotchers, and Tanglaw awardees. This segment of recognition served as one of the highlights of the event, underscoring the achievements and milestones of the students.
Another highlight of Tanglaw Awards 2026 was the keynote address delivered by Jashmine Basihan, DTE Model Student 2025, which was followed by the message of gratitude by this yearโs DTE Model Student, Divine Grace Tenoc (BEEd).
Also present during the ceremony were the DTE faculty members, led by Dr. Marilou B. Peรฑeda, together with University Chancellor Dr. Quenstein D. Lauzon.
The Tanglaw Awards 2026 was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Honors and Awards Committee, chaired by Instr. Erick M. Ocenar, and the Pre-LEPT Committee, led by Instr. Lovely L. Enfermo, Pre-LEPT Convener.
DTE believes that every academic milestone is worth celebrating, and it is in this spirit that the Tanglaw Awards is held.
To all completers, passers, and awardees, DTE is mighty proud of you!
