𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘: Alternative Work and Class Arrangement for June 2026

In continued support of the national government’s efforts to reduce electricity consumption and fuel use while ensuring uninterrupted public service and the continuity of academic operations, Southern Leyte State University will implement a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement and offsite class schedule throughout June 2026.

During this period, onsite enrollment transactions and all face-to-face office services will be temporarily unavailable.

All enrollees are advised to complete their transactions through the available online platforms and coordinate with the concerned offices via their official communication channels.

All other services will continue to be available remotely, and clients and stakeholders are encouraged to transact online or schedule their visits at a later date when onsite services resume.

This advisory is issued in line with relevant directives, including OP Memorandum Order No. 141, s. 2026, in view of OP Memorandum Order No. 67, Series of 2026, and Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026.

𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 | In view of Proclamation No. 1264 issued by Malacañang, declaring Wednesday, May 27, 2026, as a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha, Southern Leyte State University informs all stakeholders and external clients that the said holiday shall likewise serve as the University’s designated Energy Conservation Day pursuant to OP Memorandum No. 67, which provides that declared holidays within the workweek shall be observed as Energy Conservation Days.

In line with this, the previously announced mandatory Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement and off-site classes scheduled on Friday, May 29, 2026, are hereby amended to optional Work-From-Home arrangements.

Clients and stakeholders who intend to transact with the University on May 29, 2026, are advised to coordinate with the concerned offices beforehand to ensure the availability of services and personnel.

𝐒𝐋𝐒𝐔–𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬

Southern Leyte State University –Tomas Oppus (SLSU-TO) spearheaded a celebratory motorcade in honor of its outstanding graduates who excelled in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

The motorcade served as a moving tribute to the university’s newly hailed topnotchers, highlighting SLSU’s pride in their achievement and its continued commitment to excellence in teacher education. The convoy traveled across the municipalities of Malitbog, Tomas Oppus, Bontoc, and Sogod, drawing attention and warm congratulations from residents, students, faculty members, and local stakeholders along the route.

Celebrated during the event were the university’s top performers:

Daisy Mae M. Tubia (BEEd – General Education), who placed Top 5 with a rating of 93.80%;
Kim A. Gorduiz (BSEd – Science), also Top 5 with a rating of 94.20%;
and John Lloyd C. Tibon (BSEd – Science), who secured Top 7 with 93.80%. Their achievement brought immense pride to the SLSU community and the entire province.

The SLSU-TO community extends its heartfelt congratulations to the new Licensed Professional Teachers, celebrating their success as a testament to excellence, resilience, and hard work.

𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | Southern Leyte State University reminds the public and the entire university community to remain vigilant against individuals falsely representing themselves as SLSU officials or personnel.

The University recently received a report from a contractor with an ongoing project with SLSU regarding a suspicious phone call from a person claiming to be connected with the Office of the University President and who allegedly impersonated University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte during the conversation. While no solicitation or monetary request was made, similar incidents in the past have involved individuals using the names of University officials to gain trust and potentially solicit money, favors, or other transactions.

In view of this, everyone is advised to exercise caution when receiving suspicious calls, messages, or requests claiming to come from SLSU or its officials. The public is strongly encouraged to verify such communications first before responding or engaging in any transaction. To verify suspicious transactions, please contact [email protected]

Further, please be reminded that all official transactions and communications of the University are conducted only through verified and authorized SLSU channels. Any attempt to solicit money, favors, or other transactions using the name of the University or its officials should be immediately verified with the concerned office or reported to the proper University authorities.
