Fostering professional growth and reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, Trinidad Municipal College successfully held its Faculty Development Program on April 23, 2026 at the Trinidad Cultural Center, Poblacion, Trinidad, Bohol, anchored on the theme, βEmpowering Educators through CHED ACHIEVE Agenda, SDGs, and Research Tools.β
The program gathered TMC faculty members in a meaningful day of learning, collaboration, and reflection centered on strengthening instruction, advancing research capability, and aligning educational practice with transformative and sustainable development goals.
The activity formally opened through an inspiring opening program with the invocation led by Dr. Judith V. Austria, the singing of the National Anthem and Bohol Hymn led by Marina Polestico, MA, the welcome address delivered by Dr. Julie T. Maestrado, College President, and the acknowledgment of participants by Dr. Antonnette T. Nugal, Faculty President. The statement of purpose was presented by Dr. Ariel C. Rosales, setting the tone for a day devoted to empowering educators and strengthening institutional directions. Inspirational messages from Madamme Judith Del-Rosario Cajes, College Administrator, and Atty. Roberto C. Cajes, PhD, Municipal Mayor and Chairman of the TMC Board of Trustees, further underscored the Collegeβs unwavering support for faculty development and educational advancement.
The learning sessions featured substantial and timely discussions, beginning with:
Session 1: Understanding the CHED ACHIEVE Agenda by Dr. Julie T. Maestrado
Session 2: Integrating SDGs in Higher Education, and Session 3: Research Tools and Applications by Dr. Ariel C. Rosales, PhD,
equipping faculty members with practical and strategic insights for responsive and research-informed teaching.
Complementing the academic sessions were collaborative Team Building Activities facilitated by Lhery Ann T. Agot, MBA and Jun Rilly Salas, MAEd, designed to strengthen collegiality, engagement, and shared purpose among faculty members. The Sharing of Insights, facilitated by Elmira O. Negro, MSCJ and Clark Kevin Villiamor, MIT, provided space for reflection and synthesis of learning, while the program was formally concluded through closing remarks by Misael A. Salisid, MAEd, Faculty Vice-President.
The entire program was capably steered by Master of Ceremonies Almira Boncales, MAEd, whose facilitation contributed to the smooth and meaningful flow of the event.
