Congratulations to 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘁 for earning 3rd Place – Best Paper Presenter, to 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 for achieving 2nd Place – Best Paper Presenter and Best Policy Impact, and also to 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗲𝘇𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗕. 𝐁𝐒𝐈𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

The Junior Industrial Engineering (BSIE) students made a strong impression at the recently concluded 1st International and 4th Institutional Research Congress and Online Discussion (RECOD) 2026, held on April 15–16 at the Social Hall of CTU–Tuburan Campus.

Anchored on the theme “𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘌𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵,” the event brought together researchers, students, and innovators committed to developing research-driven solutions for today’s evolving challenges. Demonstrating their strengths in technical communication and systems thinking, the BSIE students delivered outstanding performances, earning recognition in the Best Paper Presenter category and bringing pride to their program.

Leading the roster of achievers, 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 secured 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 and also earned the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. Cunanan presented the study titled “𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦 𝘖𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴,” which addresses issues such as overtime, skill mismatch, and cost overruns. The research utilized Integer Linear Programming to develop an efficient workforce allocation model. The study was authored by BSIE alumni Cayla D. Dejito, Mariel B. Gallarde, and Josephene Marie O. Sabanal.

Meanwhile, 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘁 earned 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 for his research on local agricultural systems. The study, “𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘯) 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘶𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯,” proposes a framework that integrates consultation methods and simulation models. The research was authored by BSIE alumni Jannica Lyn B. Buscado, Ana Grace M. Cañete, Karylle Soyce M. Carido, and Rochelle T. Delos Reyes. The research aims to empower local farmers by improving direct market access while offering a scalable and sustainable approach to rural economic development.

Also representing the BSIE program was 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗲𝘇𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗽𝗼, who demonstrated dedication and professionalism throughout the congress.

These accomplishments highlight the students’ strong foundation in industrial engineering principles and their commitment to developing practical, solution-driven research. More importantly, their work reflects a shared goal of addressing real-world challenges in both community and industry, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.

And just like that, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 comes to a close!

It’s been days since it wrapped up on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟭 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, but the memories still feel fresh—moments of laughter, shared victories, and the energy that filled every corner of the celebration.

Engineering Days 2026 wasn’t just an event—it gave us experiences, connections, and memories we’ll carry with us long after.
