The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) proudly congratulates Asec. Pinky Tumaliuan Jimenez, a Master of Engineering major in Electronics Engineering alumna of Batch 2005, on being honored as an Inspiring ASEAN Woman Engineer, a prestigious international recognition conferred by the Philippine Technological Council – Women Engineers Network during the 1st International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists.

This distinguished award recognizes her excellence, leadership, and contributions to the field of technology and engineering, as well as her continuing work in public service as the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Regional Director for Region 2.

Her achievement was also recently recognized by the 10th City Council of Tuguegarao through a Resolution of Commendation.

USLT holds BSP, GSP Investiture Ceremony

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held the BSP and GSP Investiture Ceremony on September 4, 2026, at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium, with the theme "Scouting for a Greener Tomorrow: Futureproofing Adventure for the Next Century and Beyond.”

The investiture ceremonies included the Kid Scouts and Twinklers from Kindergarten, Kab Scouts and Star Scouts from Grade 1, and Boy Scouts and Junior Scouts from Grade 4. Teachers assigned to each scout group assisted in the ceremony, highlighting their role in guiding the young learners throughout their scouting journey.

Every Louisian carries a story shaped by faith, hard work, and the values learned at the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao. For School Year 2026 to 2027, USLT continues its Louisian Success Story (LSS) series. This feature highlights the journeys, achievements, and life lessons of USLT alumni who continue to make their mark in their chosen fields and communities.

Kicking off this year's series is Engr. Victoriano Cabrera Abana, a 2006 Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) graduate and a former USLT scholar who rose from humble beginnings in Linao East, Tuguegarao City to become a national board examination topnotcher and a Senior RF Engineer in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For Engr. Victoriano Cabrera Abana, becoming a successful engineer in the United States began with a childhood marked by hardship. Born and raised in Linao East, Tuguegarao City, Engr. Abana grew up with very humble beginnings. His father left when he was barely a year old, while his mother worked as a housekeeper with a very meager salary to raise him and his younger brother.

Educ students sent off to begin practice teaching journey

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held its Pre-Service Teachers’ Send-Off Ceremony on September 3, 2026, at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo, honoring the 4th-year Teacher Education students of Batch Fortis Via Sapientiae as they prepare to embark on their teaching internship.

The ceremony began with a Eucharistic Celebration at the Good Shepherd Chapel, presided over by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga,
CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity/ University Chaplain.

Carrying the theme “Fortis Via Sapientiae: Rooted in Values, Rising in Wisdom,” the send-off ceremony highlighted the students’ transition from classroom learning to the practical experience of the teaching profession.

USLT produces 6 RCrims in August 2026 CLE

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) produced six (6) newly Registered Criminologists (RCrims) in the August 2026 Criminologists Licensure Examination (CLE).

With an institutional passing rate of 75%, USLT surpasses the national passing rate of 57.56%.

USLT, CVMC conduct blood donation drive

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), through its School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS) and Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies (CECA) Office, in collaboration with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), conducted a Blood Donation Activity on September 1, 2026, at the Nursing Laboratory of the university.

The activity encouraged the Louisian community to turn compassion into a life-saving act. Students and employees of the university took part in the bloodletting initiative, responding to the call to help replenish the blood supply and give patients in need a second chance.

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting blood donation as a vital community health service. It also advances SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaborative efforts of USLT and CVMC, bringing together students, employees, and healthcare professionals in a shared effort to help save lives.

USLT-BES clinches Aggao Nac Kabataan 2026 Mob Dance championship
Louisian Scooper: Jaysen Zeke E. Lingan

The Basic Education School (BES) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) clinched the championship in the Aggao Nac Kabataan 2026 Mob Dance Competition on August 29, 2026, held at SM City Tuguegarao.

The team’s resilience and determination were on full display as intense rehearsals were transformed into a polished show, all fueled by their effort that powered the title win. During the awarding, the team received medals, a recognition plaque, and a cash prize amounting to 18,000 pesos.
