🇵🇭CSU College of Nursing Students Extend Service and Emergency Response Support at Tugsayaw Event🚑

The CSU College of Nursing – Carig Campus proudly supported the community through the participation of five student volunteers who are members of the CSU RCYC Carig Campus during the Tugsayaw event of the City Local Government Unit today.

Recognizing the importance of experiential learning and community engagement, the College allowed these student volunteers to serve as rescuers during the event. Their advisers, Dean Jocelyn and Mr. Jherom Gannaban Sugarol, together with the Student Organizations Coordinator Mr. Glicer Angelo Cortina, personally joined them to provide support, guidance, and direction as they worked alongside the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Cagayan Chapter and CDRRMO. Thank you PRC for giving our students this opportunity.

The activity served as a meaningful learning experience for our nursing students as they applied their knowledge and skills in emergency response, management of health concerns in public gatherings, and immediate care for individuals experiencing common challenges after strenuous activities.

Beyond the four walls of the classroom, our students continue to embody the values of service, compassion, preparedness, and commitment to the community.

Congratulations to our student volunteers for representing the CSU College of Nursing with dedication and professionalism.

📚 Empowering Future Nurses Through Excellence in Nursing Care Plan Writing.

Yesterday, July 25, 2026, marked another meaningful and enriching learning experience for our BSN Level II students as they participated in a specialized lecture-workshop on Nursing Care Plan (NCP) Writing —one of the most fundamental competencies in professional nursing.

Nursing Care Plan Writing is more than an academic requirement; it is the foundation of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing practice. Every assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation must be thoughtfully developed through sound clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and compassionate care. Mastery of this process prepares our students to deliver quality healthcare and uphold the highest standards of the nursing profession.

The CSU College of Nursing was deeply honored to welcome Mr. CJ Garo Uy, Rank 2 in the 2024 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE), as our distinguished guest lecturer. His remarkable achievement, coupled with his humility and passion for the profession, served as an inspiration to our students. The occasion was made even more special knowing that his parents are proud alumni and dedicated employees of Cagayan State University, reflecting a legacy of excellence and service.

On behalf of the College, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. JIM JERICHO CEDRIC GARO UY for graciously accepting our invitation and generously sharing his expertise, practical insights, and updated approaches to Nursing Care Plan writing. His inspiring journey reminds our students that excellence is attained through perseverance, discipline, lifelong learning, and an unwavering commitment to compassionate patient care.

The CSU College of Nursing sincerely looks forward to welcoming him again for future academic engagements as we continue to nurture competent, compassionate, and globally competitive Filipino nurses.

At the CSU College of Nursing, excellence inspires excellence, and today's learners become tomorrow's leaders in healthcare. 💚💛
