SPUP CHAMPIONS EDUCATIONAL PARADIGMS, SUSTAINABLE PEACE AT 20TH WCCI WORLD CONFERENCE IN HUNGARY

: A delegation of educators and academic leaders from SPUP actively participated in the 20th World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) World Conference at the University of PΓ©cs in Hungary from October 4–8, 2026. Guided by the theme "Paradigms in Education for Re-Creating a Sustainable and Peaceful World," the team was led by University President Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, who served as one of the organizers of the conference as a member of the WCCI International Board. Delegates including Dr. Allan Peejay M. Lappay, Dr. Jeremy Godofredo C. Morales, and Dr. Juana C. Rivera presented research on virtual peace-building, foreign student adaptation, and social harmony. Advancing technological integration and curriculum delivery, Dr. Benjamin Jularbal introduced the iTeachAI Framework, while Dr. Agripina B. Maribbay, Dr. Zenaida T. Estil, Dr. Emolyn Iringan, and Dr. Marifel Grace C. Kummer shared insights on OBE teaching, mathematical modeling, and curriculum agility. Highlighting institutional development, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and community welfare, Dr. Rosalinda T. Tanguilan, Dr. Roldan C. Bangalan, Dr. Teresita T. Lasam, and Dr. John Kit S. Masigan showcased SPUP’s multi-faceted contributions to global education. Also serving as a WCCI International Board Member, Mrs. Belen Lim joined the delegation and chaired a concurrent paper presentation session during the conference. Immersed in the rich local traditions and vibrant cultural surrounding region of Szekszard, Hungary, conference attendees also engaged in constructive dialogues following their presentation-sessions.

Supported by the SPUP Scholarship Grant Program, his completion of post-graduate studies in Japan reinforces the university's initiative to advance global health education standards and strengthen faculty qualification in pharmacy and allied health sciences.

Advanced Nursing Program

Japan Nursing Cultural Immersion Program

: Focusing on person-centered care, technological competency, research, and the exchange of best nursing practices in Japan, this cultural immersion program took place from August 23 to 28, 2026. The cohort brought together PhD in Nursing Science students from the Philippines, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Oman for an international perspective. Fieldwork spanned several key healthcare institutions across the region, including Tokushima University Hospital, Tokushima Prefectural Hospital, Tokushima Heisei Hospital, Eto Hospital, Mifune Hospital in Kagawa Prefecture, and Kochi University School of Medicine. The program was facilitated by Dr. Tetsuya Tanioka, Dr. Kyoko Osaka, and Dr. Krishan Soriano.
