The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), through its Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), conducted a Joint CHED-PRC Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program on October 8, 2026.

The activity assessed the program’s compliance with established standards and requirements, covering key areas such as program administration, faculty qualifications, library resources, laboratory facilities, instructional materials, research, and community extension.

Beyond assessing compliance, the evaluation provided an opportunity to strengthen the program’s delivery and identify areas for continuous improvement. It also reflects the institution’s commitment to providing quality veterinary education, equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need, and preparing competent and compassionate veterinary professionals for the communities they will serve.

The Human Resource, Training, and Scholarship Office conducted an Orientation and Reorientation Program for Newly Hired and Promoted Employees on October 8, 2026, at the CICS Conference Hall.

The activity aimed to familiarize newly hired and promoted employees with the university’s policies, rules and regulations, organizational structure, personnel procedures, and individual responsibilities. It also sought to provide them with essential information to support their smooth transition into their respective roles and help them effectively fulfill their duties as members of the university community.

In a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability, Cagayan State University (CSU) – Carig Campus, through its College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS), conducted a tree-growing event titled "Rooting the Future: CHASS Fruit-Bearing Tree Growing Initiative" on October 6, 2026, in front of the CHASS Building.

Anchored on the theme "Nurturing a Tree, My Intergenerational Responsibility," the activity aimed to foster ecological mindfulness among students, faculty, and administrative staff while contributing to green space preservation on campus.

Ms. Taren Anne L. Navarro formally opened the event and outlined the statement of purpose. The academic community was warmly welcomed by Dr. Jomel B. Manuel, College Dean, who set an encouraging tone for the day's green movement.

To ensure standard practices in tree planting, Ms. Juliet B. Caliguiran, University NSTP Director and Campus NSTP and NGP Coordinator, demonstrated proper planting procedures.

Before proceeding to the planting area, participants affirmed their commitment to environmental stewardship through an Oath of Commitment, led by NSRC President Francis M. Guzman.

Faculty members, students, and staff actively engaged in the Tree Growing Proper. Following the planting session, NSTP students, NSRC officers, and the National Greening Program (NGP) Office conducted watering, tagging, and site clean-up to ensure optimal survival rates for the young trees.
