CSU–COEA Ranks Top 6 in April 2026 REE Licensure Examination

Cagayan State University – College of Engineering and Architecture, through its Electrical Engineering Department, ranked Top 6 among the National Top Performing Schools in the April 2026 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination.

The University recorded a passing rate of 86.84%, exceeding the national passing rate of 57.49%.

Congratulations to the successful examinees and to CSU–COEA, particularly the faculty and staff of the Electrical Engineering Department, under the leadership of Engr. Ian C. Pagulayan, Department Chair, and Engr. John Michael B. Casibang, Dean. The College also acknowledges the continued support of the University administration.

COEA Clinches Dual Wins in Campus Search for Best Undergraduate Thesis 2026

The College of Engineering and Architecture (COEA) secured first and second place in the Experimental and Social Categories, respectively, in the recently concluded Campus Search for Best Undergraduate Thesis, held on April 22, 2026, at the CPAD Conference Hall.

In the Experimental Category, the thesis titled “In Vitro Bioactivity Evaluation of PLA/Hydroxyapatite Scaffolds Derived from Eggshell Waste” was awarded first place. The study was conducted by Chemical Engineering students Ann Joe D. Cabalza, Rowelyn D. Fermin, Melvin Jay A. Malenab, and Larianne Angel C. Sarmiento, under the supervision of Dr. Mary Jane Calagui.

Meanwhile, the study titled “A Walkability Assessment and Criteria Formulation for User-Centered Pedestrian Design in the Cagayan Valley Regional Government Center” earned second place in the Social Category. It was presented by Civil Engineering students Hernando Mari R. Diego, Ezekiel Ghielson M. Omnes, and Larry Jr. C. Pagulayan, under the supervision of Engr. Ralph Angelo B. Estiller.

The winning entry of the College will represent Cagayan State University–Carig Campus in the University-wide Search for Best Undergraduate Thesis 2026.
