Today, we open a new chapter in the College of Teacher Education.
With great pride and purpose, we officially introduce ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ ๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก, the official publication under the College of Teacher Education Student Council (CTE-SC).
HIRAYA is an ancient Filipino/Tagalog word associated with imagination, creativity, vision, aspirations, and the realization of oneโs hopes and dreams. It speaks of the power of the mind to imagine what could be and the courage to transform those dreams into something meaningful.
Often heard in the beautiful expression โ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ,โ it carries the heartfelt meaning of hoping that the wishes and aspirations of oneโs heart may be granted.
But the meaning of HIRAYA does not end with simply wishing.
It is about allowing our hopes to bear fruit.
Like a bunch of grapes, or ๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐/๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฎ, HIRAYA represents a collection of hopes, dreams, ideas, and voices. Each grape may represent one person, one story, one idea, or one aspiration. Individually, each may seem small, but when gathered together on one vine, they become a beautiful harvest.
In the same way, every student has a story worth telling, an idea worth sharing, and a dream worth nurturing.
And in HIRAYA, creativity has no standard. Creativity is freedom.
There is no single way to imagine.
No single way to create.
No single way to tell a story.
A poem can speak what the heart cannot say.
A photograph can preserve what words cannot capture.
An illustration can give shape to an imagination.
An article can give meaning to an experience.
Creativity is the freedom to see differently, think boldly, express honestly, and create without being confined by what is expected.
HIRAYA gives that freedom a home.
HIRAYA is the fruit of our imaginationโthe fruit of our hopes, dreams, and aspirations, nurtured by creativity and brought to life through the voices of our students.
Just as grapes grow from small beginnings before becoming fruit, our ideas begin as simple thoughts and grow through creativity, effort, courage, and collaboration until they become something meaningful that can be shared with others.
HIRAYA is more than ink on paper or words on a screen.
It is a platform for expression.
A home for creativity and imagination.
A space where ideas are nurtured and voices are heard.
A record of the experiences, perspectives, and stories of our student community.
Through articles, features, photographs, literary works, illustrations, and other forms of creative expression, HIRAYA seeks to document the life of the College of Teacher Education while encouraging students to write, create, question, observe, imagine, and tell stories that matter.
Behind every beginning is someone who first dared to imagine it.
We extend our deepest appreciation to ๐๐จ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ ๐. ๐๐๐๐๐ก, Vice President of the CTE-SC and Founder and Head of the HIRAYA Publication Committee, for transforming this vision into an initiative that provides our students with a stronger platform for their voices, ideas, and creativity.
And to the official members of HIRAYA Publicationโthe writers, editors, photographers, artists, contributors, and every individual who will stand behind this publicationโthis journey now belongs to you.
May you write not only with skill, but with purpose.
May you create not only to be seen, but to make a difference.
May you tell stories not only to inform, but to connect people.
May you never be afraid to create beyond expectations.
For every idea begins with imagination.
Every story begins with a voice.
And every vision begins with someone who dares to dream.
Today, we do not simply launch a publication.
