IN PHOTOS | ACTI Seniors Gear Up for Teaching Internship Through Seminar-Workshop
Senior students of the Adventist College of Technology, Inc. (ACTI) strengthened their preparation for their upcoming student internship through a seminar-workshop on Daily Lesson Log (DLL), Daily Lesson Plan (DLP), Table of Specification (TOS), and examination preparation based on the Budget of Works (BOW) held on September 27, 2026, at the ACTI Music Room.
The seminar-workshop was conducted for the ACTI Senior Class Umphayah 2027, particularly the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) students, as they prepare to begin their internship journey in different schools and take their first steps toward the teaching profession.
Raquel L. Villanueva, LPT, MAED, Principal of GSCSDAES, served as the resource speaker for the BEED seniors, while Analyn S. Autor, LPT, Math and Science Instructor at MVA, facilitated the session for the BSED Mathematics and Values Education seniors.
The seminar-workshop provided the future teachers with practical knowledge and skills in preparing lesson plans, organizing learning objectives, developing assessment tools, and ensuring that classroom instruction and examinations are properly aligned with the prescribed content and performance standards.
During her discussion, Ma’am Autor emphasized the importance of connection and alignment when preparing the DLL, TOS, and examinations. She explained that the content and performance standards, lesson objectives, learning activities, and assessment should work together to ensure that what is taught is properly measured.
Ma’am Villanueva highlighted student engagement as an essential element in teaching elementary learners. She emphasized the importance of creating lessons that capture the attention and participation of young learners, making classroom experiences more meaningful and effective.
Both speakers also emphasized the integration of faith and learning in the teaching profession. Beyond developing students intellectually and physically, future educators are encouraged to create learning experiences that contribute to the spiritual growth of their learners.
The seminar-workshop served as an opportunity for the ACTI seniors to strengthen the foundational skills they will need as they enter actual classrooms during their student internship. Through the sessions, the future teachers were reminded that effective teaching involves more than delivering lessons. It requires careful planning, appropriate assessment, meaningful student engagement, and the intentional integration of faith in learning.
As the Umphayah 2027 prepares to embark on its internship journey, the seminar-workshop provided them with practical preparation for the responsibilities and experiences that await them in their assigned schools.
