“The true measure of leadership is not how we begin, but what we leave behind.”
On August 14, the Criminology Student Council (CSC) Officers, together with the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, Ma’am Hylyn B. Canda, RCRIM, MSCRIM; our CSC Adviser, Sir Jay Arr Varquez; our dedicated faculty instructors; and the newly elected CSC Officers, gathered for the Turnover Ceremony.
With the theme, “Rooted in Service, Growing in Leadership, Building on a Foundation of Excellence, While Empowering the Next Generation of Student Leaders,” the ceremony marked more than just the transition of positions. It symbolized the passing of responsibilities, values, experiences, and aspirations from one generation of student leaders to the next.
The outgoing officers proudly turned over the responsibilities they carried, reflecting on the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and the accomplishments they achieved throughout their term. Their journey serves as a reminder that true leadership is measured not only by achievements, but by the positive impact and meaningful legacy left behind.
Meanwhile, the newly elected officers accepted the responsibility with commitment and determination, ready to continue the work and uphold the values of service, integrity, leadership, and excellence. May they lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and inspire their fellow Criminology students to become better leaders and responsible future professionals.
As one chapter comes to an end, another begins. May the new generation of CSC leaders continue to carry the torch with courage, dedication, and excellence.
