remains inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. As of this advisory, TCWS No. 1 is in effect over Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte. The system is moving closer to Eastern Visayas, bringing with it expected periods of strong winds and unfavorable weather conditions in the next 36 hours.
Residents across Eastern Visayas should anticipate heavy to at times intense rainfall, which may result in flooding and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas. Sea travel along the eastern coasts of the region is discouraged due to rough to very rough sea conditions.
Everyone is advised to take precautionary measures such as securing homes and belongings, staying indoors during severe weather, and preparing for possible power interruptions. The VSU-CMC continues to monitor the wearher conditions.
