We are conducting a campus-wide assessment on red-tagging experiences among Viscans to better understand its impact on freedom of speech, personal safety, and democratic participation within our community. Through this study, we hope to gather insights on the level of awareness, perception, and responses of students regarding this issue.

Good morning, VISCANS!

In light of the current crisis and after careful consideration, the University Supreme Student Council Federation has decided to conduct the upcoming address 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘. This is to ensure everyone’s safety and to avoid disrupting class schedules, especially as we approach the final examination period, following the numerous class suspensions in the past weeks and months.

The Visayas State University Villaba honored outstanding students and student organizations during the 25th Honors and Awards Convocation 2026 held at the Campus Gymnasium on Wednesday, May 13.

𝐅𝐓𝐄-𝐒𝐒𝐂 continues to raise the bar as it proudly received the prestigious 🏅 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 recognition during the 25th Honors and Awards Convocation ’26 proving that passion, creativity, and service truly make an impact.

The award stands as a celebration of the council’s dedication in creating meaningful programs and unforgettable initiatives for the education student community. It also reflects the unwavering commitment of the leaders behind every successful endeavor.

Leading this remarkable milestone is our dearest FTE-SSC President, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐆. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬, alongside: Mrs. Adriana A. Montecalvo-Sabandon, Adviser for Internal Affairs, Mr. Clyd James Sabandon, Adviser for Finance, and Mr. Niño D. Dillera, Adviser for External Affairs, and ofcourse the ever active FTE-SSC Officers for the AY. 2025-2026.

In response to prevailing heat conditions, the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 of the Visayas State University Villaba has issued 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 23, s. 2026, implementing the 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

This measure seeks to alleviate the discomfort among FTE students as they report to school for classes amid the increased heat index. While FTE students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, they are strictly reminded to comply with the appropriate dress code and observe proper decorum at all times—upholding professionalism and maintaining a respectful, conducive academic environment.

The week-long celebration, KaSaDra (Kanta, Sayaw, at Drama) Competition set the stage ablaze, igniting the spirit of excellence, unity, and pride among FTE students. Leading the charge, Rising Phoenix (BPED) soared to victory as 1st Place, followed by Venomous Python (BSED Mathematics) securing 2nd Place, and Asgard Fury (BSED Science) claiming 3rd Place.

Moreover, the SportsFest Competition 2026 crowned Rising Phoenix (BPED) as the Overall Champion, dominating the arena with strength and determination. Literary Lions (BSED English) secured a well-deserved 2nd Place, while Asgard Fury (BSED Science) claimed 3rd Place, proving their grit and competitive spirit throughout the games. 🔥🏆

As the celebration reached its peak, FTE Night 2026 transformed the evening into a breathtaking garden of elegance and brilliance. Faculty members, staff, guests, and students gathered for a night where style, talent, and intellect took center stage. Representatives from BSED English, Science, Mathematics, BEED, and BPED captivated the audience in the much-awaited search for Mister and Miss FTE 2026.

Emerging victorious, Ms. Jelyn Lubiano of BSED English (Literary Lions) was crowned Miss FTE 2026, alongside Mr. Justine Orongan of BPED (Rising Phoenix) as Mister FTE 2026—a true testament to grace, confidence, and excellence.

From fierce competitions to unforgettable performances, the night stood as a powerful celebration of unity and achievement. Making it even more remarkable, all candidates were awarded full scholarships from Niño Listones Review Center(NLRC) —a milestone that highlights the event’s lasting impact.

More than just a celebration, FTE Week 2026 became a well-deserved pause from the academic grind—a night filled with beauty, brilliance, and pride that will surely echo beyond the walls of the institution. ✨
