The College of Agriculture and Fisheries Student Council, represented by CAF-SC President Aldren Jalimao, joined the Bayani Challenge at Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon on April 30โ€“May 4, 2026. Through the invitation of Gawad Kalingaโ€“Catanduanes, the council had the opportunity to extend service to the community of Sorsogon.

The Bayani Challenge included various activities such as house building, school refurbishment, coastal clean-up, medical missions, seminars, repainting, and other community service efforts aimed at helping improve the lives of the residents.

It is a testament that service does not just stay in one community but can be shared and extended to others in need. It proves that the College of Agriculture and Fisheries Student Council is committed, service-driven, and dedicated to making a positive impact beyond its own campus.

This experience strengthened the spirit of volunteerism, unity, and compassion among the participants as they worked together for community development and meaningful change.

Muling pinatunayan ang husay at talino sa larangan ng Organic Agriculture sa isinagawang Kabataang OA Quiz Bee: Local Eliminations ngayong araw.

Muling naiuwi ni John Lex D. Bilan ang unang pwesto, habang pumangalawa si Mayette M. Candilluna, kapwa nagpakitang-gilas at ipinagpatuloy ang kanilang kahanga-hangang track record mula noong Kabataang OA Quiz Bee Competition: Local Elimination 2025. Matatandaang sila rin ang naging kinatawan ng Catanduanes State University sa Regional Level, kung saan nagkamit si Bilan bilang 3rd Placer at si Candilluna bilang 4th Placer.

Hindi rin nagpahuli si Stephanie Padilla, na itinanghal bilang 3rd Placer ngayong taon. Samantala, naging kapana-panabik ang tunggalian para sa ikaapat at ikalimang pwesto sa pagitan nina Mecca Vargas at Jerrymie Bigcas, na dati ring kinatawan ng unibersidad sa Regional Level noong 2024. Sa huli, nakuha ni Vargas ang 4th Place, habang si Bigcas naman ang 5th Place.

Sa mas maagang pagsasagawa ng Local Eliminations ngayong taon, mas nabibigyan ng sapat na panahon ang mga nagwagi upang paghandaan ang susunod na yugto ng kompetisyon. Layunin nitong mas patatagin ang kanilang kaalaman, kakayahan, at kumpiyansa sa pagharap sa Regional Level.

Buong pagmamalaki at suporta namang ipinapaabot ng faculty members ng College of Agriculture and fisheries ang kanilang pagbati at paghanga sa mga kalahok. Bitbit ang dedikasyon at determinasyon, inaasam ng bawat CAFamilya na maiuwi ang unang pwesto sa Regional Level at tuluyang makausad sa National Level.

Patuloy na magsisilbing inspirasyon ang tagumpay na ito upang higit pang palaganapin ang kamalayan at kahalagahan ng Organic Agriculture sa kabataan.
