We focus on these: Faculty Rights, Well-being and Working Conditions
1. Propose to refurbish the Faculty Lounge to make it worth its name: a comfortable place where teachers can take a break and reenergize, with amenities like air-conditioning, a coffee corner, wifi spots, lounging sofas, TV and meeting/discussion area for academic and related purposes.
2. Espouse improve working conditions through measures such as de-clogging of teacher’s routine tasks from unnecessary paper works (e.g. encoding of master lists) in order to allow faculty to concentrate on the essentials. Along this line, we will support the immediate and complete computerization and electronic networking of the student record system and the University’s entire documentation and communication processes.
3. Help to establish the Help Desk as a first-line assistance mechanism for teachers with specific problems related to their work and employment status.
4. Advocate possibilities of enhancing health care packages and other social and physical wellness programs.
5. Push to revitalize CASUNEA as the collective negotiating body by working closely with the non-teaching employees.
6. Collaborate with non-teaching sectors in utilizing resources for income generating ventures.
Career Advancement
1. Work for the increased rationalization of the faculty promotion scheme as a mechanism of empowering the teaching force (If promotion is delivered at doorsteps like in other universities in Bicol, why can’t CSU do the same?)
2. Work for the enhancement of the academic career advancement scheme through scholarships, fellowships, trainings that make good use of networks and resource-sharing mechanisms with other universities and relevant institutions.
3. Propose to establish a mechanism for collegial mentoring in research and publication.
Organizational
1.Propose to create a faculty newsletter and online page to keep faculty members updated of all relevant events and issues in the university affecting them, and serve as a platform for creative expression, advocacies and social networking.
2. Propose that representation to the Board of Regents will be carried out according to democratic consultation with the constituents,especially on major questions for decision-making.
3. Propose to institute a program for the appropriate recognition of distinguished service and other achievements.
4. Push and support advocacies to fulfill genuine aspirations as a Green University.
5. Propose to establish a stronger coordination with the faculty of CSU Panganiban Campus that will create harmonious working relationship that will empower them as equally important partners of academic community.
