Triple Win at the 13th BIOTA Bicol Regional Convention!

The delegates from the Catanduanes State University College of Science secured three prestigious awards and a major leadership appointment at the 13th BIOTA Bicol Regional Convention and Scientific Sessions, held last August 21–22, 2026, at Sorsogon State University.

Our delegation from the Natural Science Department truly went above and beyond. Please join us in celebrating our brilliant awardees who brought home the convention's highest honors:

🏆 Best Poster: Ms. Maricon G. Vargas
🏆 Best Paper: Ms. Marites B. Tapit and Associate Professor Ma. Cecilia T. Arcilla
🏆 Best Presenter: Asso. Prof. Ma. Cecilia T. Arcilla

We are equally proud of our faculty who presented their research during the scientific sessions, contributing to the advancement of biology and STEM education: Ms. Chinne B. Ching and Ms. Ana Carmela T. Tatel.

Furthermore, we extend our congratulations to Asso. Prof. Ma. Cecilia T. Arcilla on her new appointment as a Board of Director for Higher Education. Her dedication and expertise will undoubtedly continue to elevate the standards of the biological sciences across the region.

The CatSU College of Science community proudly celebrates our extraordinary alumni who successfully passed the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)!

We give a special shoutout to our non-education program graduates who proved their academic versatility by conquering the board exam. We honor our brilliant BS Mathematics alumni—who comprised 4 out of the 6 BSED Mathematics passers from CatSU—alongside our successful achievers from BS Environmental Science (BSES), and BS Biology.
