In celebration of the 207th Anniversary of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Happy Island Lodge No. 65 undertook a meaningful outreach activity at the Alfonso Ma. Fusco Children’s Home. Guided by one of the fundamental tenets of Odd Fellowship, the duty to visit and care for the orphaned, the brethren came together in a spirit of genuine service and compassion.
During the visit, the Lodge members extended their support by donating grocery items to help sustain the daily needs of the children, as well as reading materials aimed at nurturing their education, imagination, and personal growth. These simple yet heartfelt offerings were received with gratitude by the Sisters who tirelessly oversee the care and well-being of the children.
More than the material assistance, the presence of the Odd Fellows brought encouragement, warmth, and a sense of belonging to the young residents. The activity served as a living expression of the Order’s enduring principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth, demonstrating that charity is not merely an act of giving, but a commitment to uplift lives and strengthen communities.
Through this outreach, Happy Island Lodge No. 65 reaffirmed its dedication to humanitarian service, reminding all that true brotherhood extends beyond fellowship, it reaches those most in need, fostering hope and making a lasting difference in the lives of others.
