Last February 24 at the CatSU Gymnasium, history was made as the first-ever Mr. and Ms. CICT 2026 successfully took center stage.

Upon the request of CICT SC, CKBB rendered assistance to help ensure the smooth flow and overall success of this historic event.

Through collaboration, dedication, and shared vision, what started as a concept became a remarkable reality β€” a platform that highlighted leadership, confidence, and CICT excellence.

We proudly congratulate the organizers, partners, and everyone behind the scenes for a successful and well-executed event.

Ang CKBB ay buong pusong nakikiisa sa paggunita ng ika-40 anibersaryo ng People Power Revolution sa EDSAβ€”isang sandaling nakaukit sa puso ng kasaysayan, kung kailan ang tapang ng mamamayan ay naging ilaw sa gitna ng dilim. Taos-puso naming inaalay ang pinakamataas na pagpupugay sa mga bayaning buong giting na tumindig, naglakad, at nag-alay ng tinig upang makamtan ang demokrasya na ating tinatamasa ngayon. Walang panahon, walang puwersa, at walang pangyayaring makabubura sa alaala ng araw na winasak ang mga tanikalang iginapos ng mapang-abusong sistema at muling isinilang ang pag-asa ng bayan.

Bilang mga kabataang lider, taas-noo naming ipinapangako na iingatan, pahahalagahan, at ipaglalaban ang kasaysayang nagbigay-buhay sa pagbabago at repormaβ€”hindi lamang sa pamahalaan, kundi sa ekonomiya, sa komunidad, at sa araw-araw na pakikibaka ng bawat karaniwang Pilipino. Sapagkat ang araw na ito ay hindi lamang pag-alala, kundi isang paggising; isang pag-alab ng diwa at damdaming makabayan na hindi nagpapatinag, hindi nagpapasupil, at may matibay na paninindigan para sa katotohanan at katarungan.

Sa paglipas ng mga taon, nananatiling buhay ang aral ng EDSA: na ang maliliit na tinig, kapag pinagbuklod ng layunin at pagmamahal sa bayan, ay nagiging dagundong na kayang yumanig sa kasaysayan. Sama-sama nating ipagdiwang ang makabuluhang yugtong itoβ€”isang paalala na ang bawat Pilipino, saan man naroroon at sino man ang pinagmulan, ay may tinig na makapangyarihan at may pusong may kakayahang magpasiklab ng tunay na pagbabago.

Noong Enero 17, 205 ay inilabas ang opisyal na uniporme ng Catanduanes State University. Kami ay nananawagan para sa pagkakapantay-pantay, pagkilala, at representasyon ng mga Transgender at Non-Binary na estudyante.

Catanduanes State University, kami po ay magalang na humihingi ng boses at espasyo upang marinig. Handa kaming makipagdayalogo, kasama ang mga Transgender at Non-Binary na estudyante, upang pag-usapan ang kasalukuyang sitwasyon at mga karanasang patuloy naming kinahaharap. Hindi na dapat manatiling bulag ang sistema ng CatSU sa mga isyu ng LGBTQIA+ community. Ang hakbang na ito ay magsisilbing malinaw na pahayag ng inyong paninindigan para sa inclusion at diversity.

Hanggang sa kasalukuyan, pinagbabawalan pa rin ang mga Transgender na estudyante na magsuot ng unipormeng naaayon sa kanilang gender identity. Nais naming ipaalam ito sa lahatβ€”mula sa pamunuan hanggang sa bawat bahagi ng sistemaβ€”upang maiwasan ang diskriminasyon sa guard station, silid-aralan, kantina, hallway, at sa kahit saang sulok ng Catanduanes State University.

Sa aming pagkakaalam, may naipasa nang bill ang USC noong Academic Year 2023–2024 upang ma-institutionalize ito sa rebisyon ng Student Handbook. Nais sana naming mabigyan ito muli ng pagkakataong mapag-usapan at agarang maisakatuparan sa pamamagitan ng konkretong aksyon.

Patuloy ang aming laban para sa malayang pagpapahayag ng kasarian at isang pamantasang ligtas, makatao, at pantay para sa lahat.

On December 1, 2025, the grounds of Catanduanes State University became a place of purpose and unity as JCI Catanduanes, in partnership with CatSU Karibangbang, Visible Inclusion, and People and Habitat, successfully conducted ARAM (Awareness, Response, and Action Mobilization) in commemoration of World AIDS Day.

ARAM created a safe, inclusive space where the youth of Catanduanes were encouraged to engage in open and responsible conversations about safe s*x, HIV, and AIDS. Through dialogue and education, the activity confronted misinformation, challenged long-standing stigma, and empowered young people to choose empathy, understanding, and informed action over fear and silence.

The program culminated in a moving candle lighting ceremony, where participants paused to remember and honor our brothers and sisters who bravely fought and lost their battle with AIDS. Each candle lit was a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and the shared responsibility to ensure that their stories are not forgotten, but instead fuel our commitment to protect lives and promote compassion.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Catanduanes State Universityβ€”its administration, faculty, and studentsβ€”for opening its grounds and hearts to this meaningful cause. Our sincere thanks as well to CatSU Karibangbang, Visible Inclusion, and People and Habitat for their steadfast partnership and shared vision of an informed and inclusive community.

ARAM reminds us that awareness sparks understanding, understanding calls us to action, and action saves lives. As we celebrate World AIDS Day 2025, we embrace the theme: Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.

A day of purpose begins with the Prelude of Purpose, a stirring reflection by Reashiela L. Khan, reminding us that awareness starts with empathy and a willingness to understand.

We then rise with the Message of Student Strength and Solidarity from John Lester Templonuevo, USC President & Student Regentβ€”empowering every young heart to stand as champions of compassion, courage, and health advocacy.

The spirit of learning continues with Kristian Q. Aldea, Vice President for Academic Affairs, through the Message of Empowered Learning, inspiring us to lead with knowledge, transform with purpose, and learn with an open heart.

We close with a powerful tribute to commitment and community by Hon. Jose Paolo Teves, Mayor of Baras & JCI Catanduanes Presidentβ€”honoring every advocate and ally striving for an AIDS-free generation.

Give Love to the Childen.”

The outreach activity in Dinungsuran, Pandan brought together the shared commitment of Heart for Philippines, Catanduanes State University, the CICT Student Council (CICT-SC), CatSU Karibangbang, and the LGU of Pandan in extending support to families affected by Bagyong Uwan. Simple contributionsβ€”clothes, books, food, bags, shoes, and school suppliesβ€”became meaningful reminders of hope for children and families continuing to rebuild after the disaster.

This initiative was further strengthened through the presence and support of Hon. Mayor Honesto C. Tabligan II, represented by Kgd. Rynz Delos Santos, Vice Mayor Eric T. Rodriguez, and the Sangguniang Bayan of Pandan, who accommodated the team at their Hall during lunch. The warm cooperation of Brgy. Captain Hon. Jenelie I. Briones and the Barangay Council of San Andres (Dinungsuran), the MSWDO of Pandan headed by Ma’am Grace, the SK President and officials, and School Principal Joel P. Datoon together with the faculty members, created an environment that ensured a smooth, meaningful, and truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

The outreach held on November 19, 2025 stands as a testament to community strength, shared purpose, and the collective will to uplift one another. Sa kada tabang, may batang muling ngumiti. Sa kada pagdonar, may pamilyang nagbangon.

Our team is now on the way to Pandan for the Buk-ad Karibangbang an initiative of CatSU Karibangbang (CKBB), sponsored by Heart for the Philippines, and held in collaboration with the College of Information and Communication Technology.

Yesterday, they wholeheartedly prepared the donations and goods for today’s Buk-Ad Outreach Program in Pandanβ€”an initiative of CatSU Karibangbang (CKBB), sponsored by Heart for the Philippines, and held in collaboration with the College of Information and Communication Technology Student Council.
