Raise our Flag!
Catanduanes State University joins the nation in commemorating National Flag Days from May 28 to June 12, 2026, by proudly raising and displaying the Philippine flag, a lasting symbol of our history, identity, and shared aspirations as Filipinos.
This observance traces its roots to the historic Battle of Alapan on May 28, 1898, where Filipino forces secured their first victory against Spanish troops and where the Philippine flag was first hoisted. It was later unfurled in Kawit, Cavite during the proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898 โ a defining moment in our nationโs history.
As the Philippine flag is raised simultaneously across the country, may we be reminded of the courage, sacrifice, and unity of those who fought for our freedom. More than a national emblem, our flag carries the enduring spirit of the Filipino people โ resilient, hopeful, and proud.
Let us raise our flags with honor and continue upholding the values and freedoms it represents.
