‎The Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education Program Completion Rite is aptly named Talus, a Yakan term that signifies culmination, arrival, and meaningful transition. Rooted in the cultural landscape of Mindanao, Talus reflects the graduates’ journey—not merely as an academic achievement, but as a passage shaped by identity, discipline, and purpose. It honors the program’s deep connection to indigenous knowledge systems, particularly the Yakan heritage that continues to inspire the spirit of cultural education.

‎Intriguingly, when the word Talus is inverted, it forms sulat, a Filipino term meaning “written.” This transformation carries profound meaning: the journey of the graduates is not by chance—it is written with purpose and guided by destiny. Their years of study, creative exploration, and cultural immersion have led them to this moment, affirming that their path as educators and cultural bearers has been shaped through both intention and perseverance.
‎In this light, Talus becomes more than a name—it becomes a narrative. It signifies completion not as an end, but as the fulfillment of a journey long in the making. Each graduate stands as a living text, a story inscribed through dedication, enriched by the arts, and grounded in cultural heritage. Their experiences within the program have become the ink through which their identities as future educators are now defined.

‎As they move forward from this rite, the graduates carry with them the essence of Talus—a reminder that while their journey has been written, it is far from finished. They are now called to write new stories in the lives of their students, communities, and the nation. As cultural educators, they hold the power to preserve memory, shape identity, and inspire transformation through the arts and culture.

‎Thus, Talus stands as both culmination and commencement—a destiny fulfilled and a future waiting to be written.

ACTION RESEARCH DEFENDED. ✨📚
Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education — Batch Asombroso

A journey filled with dedication, creativity, teamwork, sleepless nights, and countless revisions has finally reached a meaningful milestone. Today, we proudly celebrate the successful defense of our Action Research. This achievement reflects not only our hard work and perseverance, but also our passion as future educators and advocates of culture and the arts.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our research adviser, Eric-Roland R. Natividad, for his guidance, patience, wisdom, and unwavering support throughout this journey. Thank you for believing in our capabilities, mentoring us with excellence, and inspiring us to become better researchers and future educators.

Every challenge became lighter because we faced it together, and every achievement became more meaningful because we celebrated it as one.

This milestone is not just about defending a research paper—it is about growth, resilience, passion, and the collective effort behind every page, every presentation, and every sleepless night.

Batch Asombroso — Action Research Defended. One milestone achieved, many more to conquer. ✨💙

SA SINING AT KULTURA, MAY TAHANAN KA. 🎭✨

In celebration of Arts Month, the BCAED ASOMBROSO proudly embraces the beauty of creativity, heritage, and expression. Through every performance, every movement, and every melody, we continue to honor the rich traditions that shape our identity and unite our community.

The stage becomes more than just a place to perform—it becomes a home where passion, culture, and talent live and grow. As we celebrate the arts, we are reminded that in every beat of the music, every graceful step, and every vibrant story told through performance, our culture finds its voice and our hearts find belonging.

Together, let us continue to celebrate, preserve, and share the beauty of our heritage, because truly, sa sining at kultura, may tahanan ka.

On February 13, 2026, the Mosaic Art Workshop titled 𝙈𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙠𝙤𝙨
was successfully held at the Social Hall of the College of Teacher Education, Western Mindanao State University. Anchored on the theme “𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘺: 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴", the workshop gathered participants from Western Mindanao State University – Integrated Laboratory School Elementary and High School in a meaningful celebration of art and reflection.

The program opened with solemn preliminaries, featuring the singing of the doxology by 𝑋ℎ𝑦𝑛𝑎 𝐺𝑢𝑒𝑣𝑎𝑟𝑎, followed by 𝐵𝐶𝐴𝐸𝐷 3 leading the Philippine National Anthem and Zamboanga Hermosa. An energetic Opening Salvo by 𝐵𝐶𝐴𝐸𝐷 3 set an engaging atmosphere, after which 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑓. 𝐽𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑦 𝐽𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝐶. 𝐷𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑛 delivered the welcome remarks. The workshop proper allowed participants to explore mosaic-making as a creative expression of transforming broken pieces into purposeful art. This was followed by a sharing and processing session where insights and experiences were exchanged. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and closing remarks by 𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐽𝑎𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑎.
