AMAZING ATENEAN | AdZU Welcomes Newly Registered Ignatian Nurses and Recognize Topnotcher Examinees

Once again, the College of Nursing (CON) delivers excellence!

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University community celebrates our newly registered Ignatian Nurses who emerged victorious during the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) held last November 4 to 5, 2025.

With AdZU’s NLE First-Time Takers Passing Rate of 97.54%, an Overall performance of 94.67%, and a National Passing Rate of 90.04%, our Nursing Angels displayed the product of years of holistic training grounded on Ignatian guidance.

From among the passers, we give a resounding applause to our three topnotchers:

RN TRACEY FAYE ROSAGARON ABELLON - Top 3 (93.40%)
RN CARL JOHN DELOS REYES MANALO - Top 5 (93.00%)
RN DARWISH ALIH MUALLIP SUBAHANI - Top 6 (92.80%)

ANUNCIO ATENISTA | AdZU IN-PERSON CLASSES SUSPENDED TODAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2025, Due to Inclement Weather

Following the announcement from the City Government of Zamboanga, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University SUSPENDS IN-PERSON CLASSES TODAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2025, due to inclement weather.

Classes are to shift to ASYNCHRONOUS MODALITY to ensure students do not miss lessons and requirements.

OFFICE OPERATIONS CONTINUE but work personnel who may experience difficulty reporting to work due to flooding may coordinate with their supervisors regarding alternative work arrangements.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please continue monitoring our official channels for further updates.

The College Final Examinations for the First Semester of School Year 2025-2026 will be on DECEMBER 1 to 4, 2025, with a Special Exam Day on DECEMBER 5, 2025.

Exam schedules can be found in the AdZU Portal. Please note that the special exam day is designated only for students with conflicting schedules, and arrangements for this day will be coordinated between the students and their teachers on a case-by-case basis.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Secure your EXAM SLIP from the Finance Office and present it to the proctor for signing during the exam.

ANUNCIO ATENISTA | Classes Shift to Asynchronous Modality TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 10, 2025 Due to Inclement Weather

Following the announcement from the City Government of Zamboanga, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University President’s Office has released a memo SUSPENDING IN-PERSON CLASSES and ON-SITE WORK TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 10, 2025, due to inclement weather.

AdZU teachers and faculty are asked to provide asynchronous or alternative learning activities to ensure lessons continue while face-to-face classes are suspended.

All offices will remain closed for walk-in or in-person transactions unless necessary for urgent matters. Only essential personnel (e.g., security and maintenance) will report to campus to support safety and readiness.

Let us remain cautious and extend compassion to students and personnel affected by the weather.

Following Memo 25-26:15 released by the AdZU President’s Office on August 23, 2025, WORK and CLASSES will be SUSPENDED in the university on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2025, for the University Convocation 2025.

All members of the AdZU faculty and staff are enjoined to be part of the event.

For Graduate School, RUCJ College of Law, and School of Medicine students, please coordinate with your respective departments for instructions.

July 31, 2025 | Feast Day of St Ignatius of Loyola

St Ignatius of Loyola, our patron saint, is remembered not just as the founder of the Society of Jesus but more importantly, as a man whose life was marked by deep spiritual transformation, leadership, and faith. His journey from soldier to saint is an inspirational story that continues to echo in the hearts of many especially for us Ateneans. He challenges us to live with greater purpose and be guided by discernment and a profound sense of mission.

In Ateneo, the Feast of St Ignatius is a truly significant occasion. It reminds us to see our hardships in life and moments of surrender as opportunities for God to shape us into agents of change, just as He has done with St Ignatius.

This celebration is a call to deepen our dedication to the values of the Ignatian way of life and to see beyond medals and awards - that compassion, humility, and service are what truly matter.

With the flame of Animo burning within us, let us seize the day and continue to work for justice, reconciliation, and hope—always striving to find God in all things.
