On August 18, 2025, the ORSEM Freshmen of School of Allied Medicine (SAM) officially kicked off SAMsaya 2025 at the UZ Summit Centre. The event began with a morning program featuring an orientation on department rules and regulations, presentations by the SAM Supreme Student Council (SSC), deans and faculty members, as well as the presentation of official uniforms and newly elected officers.
The afternoon program continued with the opening salvo of SAMsaya 2025, which included the presentation of candidates for Mr. and Ms. SAM, the SAM SSC oath-taking ceremony, a parade of department athletes, the department yell competition, and the banner-making competition.
The School of Allied Medicine was buzzing with energy and vibrant color as its departments proudly showcased their unity, creativity, and school spirit through themed team presentations. Team Mirabel of the SAM SSC embodied The Heart of Encanto in maroon and gold, while Team Luisa from Medical Technology highlighted The Gift of Strength in bold red. Representing the Pharmacy Department, Team Isabela showcased The Gift of Growth and Creativity in purple. Team Julieta of Nursing reflected The Gift of Healing in pink, and Team Pepa of Respiratory Therapy expressed The Gift of Emotion in blue. Team Bruno from Radiologic Technology represented The Gift of Vision in yellow.
Day 2 of SAMsaya 2025, held on August 19, 2025, featured a full day of activities at the grandstand, highlighted by preliminary matches in major sporting events. Students competed in volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, and football, with both menโs and womenโs divisions participating, setting an energetic tone for the week-long celebration.
Day 3 activities took place on August 20, 2025, at the IHK, highlighting various competitions, including Palarong Pinoy, the Department Yell Competition, the Banner-Making Competition, TikTok and Karaoke Challenges, and Gift of Mind board games such as Chess, Scrabble, and Dominoes. Meanwhile, the E-Sports competitions featured Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile.
In the afternoon, traditional Filipino games were conducted, including Hulaan Mo, Bes, Putok Lobo, Pitik Calamansi, and Hanap Subo Saging. In the results, Team Julieta triumphed in Mobile Legends, while Team Bruno won Call of Duty: Mobile. In board games, Team Luisa topped chess, while Team Isabela dominated Scrabble and Dominoes, with top finishers also including Team Julieta, Team Bruno, and Team Pepa.
In recreational events, Team Luisa led the yell competition, Team Bruno topped banner making, and Team Julieta dominated Larong Pinoy games like Ginto sa Harina and Hanap Subo Saging. Other events saw championships claimed by Team Isabela and Team Pepa, including Hulaan Mo, Bes!, Pitik Calamansi, and Putok Lobo.
Day 4, held on August 21, 2025, featured the championship rounds of major sporting events conducted in both morning and afternoon sessions. The competitions included badminton, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis (singles for both menโs and womenโs divisions), and football.
In the major sports results, Team Pepa dominated both the menโs and womenโs basketball events, while Team Bruno secured championships in menโs volleyball and football. Team Julieta claimed the womenโs volleyball title and emerged as champion in menโs lawn tennis, with Team Bruno also winning the womenโs lawn tennis division. Team Isabela showcased outstanding performance in menโs and womenโs badminton singles, while Team Bruno captured the mixed doubles title.
Day 5 activities on August 22, 2025, focused on literary and talent-based events. The morning program featured the Gift of Expression competitions, which included extemporaneous speaking, poetry, and poster-making. The Gift of Talent MOVE Competition followed with singing performances in both solo and duet categories.
In the afternoon, the MOVE Competition continued with hip-hop performances, award presentations, and preparations for the upcoming Mr. and Ms. SAM event at the UZ Summit Centre. The literary and performing arts competitions highlighted creativity and skill. Team Julieta won poster making, Team Pepa excelled in spoken poetry and solo singing, and Team Luisa led extemporaneous speech and singing duets. HipHop champions were Team Pepa, followed by Team Luisa, Team Julieta, Team Isabela, and Team Bruno.
On Day 6, August 23, 2025, the morning session was devoted to the continuation of preparations for the Mr. and Ms. SAM pageant. The culminating event took place in the afternoon at the UZ Summit Centre, where the official Mr. and Ms. SAM competition was held under the theme โKen and Barbie.โ
SAMsaya 2025 concluded with the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. SAM 2025 pageant, featuring student representatives from various departments who showcased not only their talents but also their confidence, charm, and school spirit. The prestigious titles were awarded to Nijmarc Najar of the Pharmacy Department as Mr. SAM 2025 and Aliyah Eunice Pakam of the Medical Technology Department as Ms. SAM 2025.
Joining the titleholders as first runners-up were Yasser Ulod of the Respiratory Therapy Department and Chariz Gaviola of the Nursing Department. Second runner-up honors were awarded to Charionne Arana of Nursing and Raidalyn Sampang of Pharmacy. Placing third were Johnsen Estender of Medical Technology and Geane Gonzales Ofiana of Respiratory Therapy, while Michael Terrence Tan and Carry Burlas of the Radiologic Technology Department placed fourth.
SAMsaya 2025 showcased a week of dynamic competition and exceptional talent, with students from the School of Allied Medicine competing across diverse activities. These included sports, e-sports, board games, literary contests, performance arts, and traditional games. The celebration emphasized teamwork, camaraderie, and school spirit, cementing its place as a truly memorable event for the 2025 academic year.
