ATHLETICS FIRST COACHES' MEETING SY 2026-2027 | The University Athletics Office officially commenced School Year 2026โ2027 with its First Coaches' Meeting on July 1, 2026, at the Duffy Conference Hall, Fr. William H. Kreutz, SJ Building. The gathering brought together new and returning coaches to align on the University's vision, priorities, and operational guidelines for the new academic year.
A highlight of the meeting was the sharing by Ms Silvie Agravante, Member of the AdZU Board of Trustees, who shared key recommendations and insights gathered from the Athletics consultation sessions that began on January 14, 2026. She emphasized the importance of collaboration in discovering, developing, and accompanying student-athletes while continuing to strengthen the University's Athletics Program. Ms Agravante also shared the University's vision and priorities as AdZU prepares for its 115th Anniversary in 2028, underscoring the value of long-term planning and collective commitment to advancing athletics.
The meeting also welcomed the University's newly hired coaches and served as an orientation on the Athletics Manual, University policies on student welfare and safeguarding, coaches' roles and responsibilities, tryout requirements, the School Year 2026โ2027 Athletics Calendar of Activities, attendance monitoring, and the University's branding and intellectual property guidelines.
As the school year begins, the University Athletics Office remains committed to developing student-athletes who strive for excellence in sports while embodying Ignatian values through holistic formation and a steadfast commitment to becoming men and women for and with others.
