The Pakistan Studies Society is proud to announce a new initiative: Pakistan Studies Reading Club 🇵🇰📖
The Reading Club aims to promote reading, research, critical thinking, and intellectual discussion among students. It will provide a platform where students can explore Pakistan’s history, politics, society, culture, and contemporary issues through books, research articles, discussions, and presentations.
Through this initiative, we hope to develop a stronger reading and research culture within the Department of Pakistan Studies.

Hammad Saqib, a student of the Department of Pakistan Studies at Government Postgraduate College No. 1 Abbottabad and a young journalist, was honored with a Certificate award of Appreciation for his social contributions, journalistic work, and efforts to create awareness on important community issues.

The Certificate Award of Appreciation was presented to Hammad Saqib by Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Mr. Sarmad Saleem Akram, during the 9th Matrix Pakistan Youth Summit 2026.

The summit was organized by Matrix Pakistan in collaboration with the District Youth Office Abbottabad. The event brought together young people and provided them with an opportunity to showcase their talent, recognize their efforts, and encourage them to play a positive role in society.

Hammad Saqib has been actively involved in journalism and community activities, highlighting public issues and sharing important matters with the people through his work as a journalist.

The recognition is an encouragement for him to continue his efforts in journalism, education, and social service, and to contribute positively to society in the future.

A very warm welcome to the newly appointed BS-21 Principal, Prof. Naeem Akhtar Abbasi, who formally assumed the charge of Principal, Government Postgraduate College No. 1 Abbottabad, today.

On this significant occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aftab officially handed over the charge to Prof. Naeem Akhtar Abbasi. This transition marks the beginning of a new chapter in the rich academic and administrative history of this prestigious institution.

Prof. Naeem Akhtar Abbasi is widely respected for his distinguished academic career, visionary leadership, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to the promotion of quality education. His appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his remarkable services to higher education, and we are confident that under his dynamic leadership, Government Postgraduate College No. 1 Abbottabad will continue to achieve new milestones of excellence and progress.

At the same time, we express our profound gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aftab for his exemplary services as Principal.
