Mr. Malak Aafaq Ahmad, an alumnus of the Department of Earth Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, completed his MS in Applied Geology, securing 1st position in his batch.

During his MS, Aafaq conducted his research on Landslide Susceptibility Mapping Using Machine Learning, combining geological knowledge with modern data driven techniques to better understand and assess landslide hazards.

Today, he is serving as a Material Engineer (ME) in NESPAK on the Local Roads Project (LRP) 2026–27 in Lahore district, contributing to the development and quality assurance of road infrastructure. The LRP is a major development initiative of the Government of Punjab, focusing on improving local road networks, connectivity, and infrastructure across the province.

From studying the complexities of the Earth at COMSATS to contributing to real world infrastructure development, Aafaq's journey reflects how knowledge, research, and dedication can turn academic excellence into meaningful professional impact.
