📢 Training Session on Sustainable Development Goals & Health and Safety
The Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OSAH) successfully conducted a one-day awareness training session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Health & Safety for the Security Staff on 8th April 2026.
The session highlighted the importance of SDGs, with a special focus on promoting a safe and healthy working environment. Participants were engaged in understanding how health and safety practices contribute to achieving sustainable development.
This initiative reflects OSAH’s commitment to building awareness and ensuring a safer workplace for all.

🌍 International Volunteer Day — 5 December 2025 🌍
Seminar at Department of Computer Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur

The Department of Computer Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized a special seminar in connection with International Volunteer Day, in collaboration with the Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OSAH) and Punjab Civil Defense Bahawalpur.

Civil Defense Officer Mr. Faheem, Manager OSAH Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, and Chairman Department of Computer Science Prof. Dr. Imran Sarwar Bajwa graced the event with their presence.

During the seminar, speakers highlighted the importance of volunteerism in building a safer and more resilient community. Chairman Prof. Dr. Imran Sarwar Bajwa emphasized the need to accelerate volunteer registrations across the University, in line with the vision of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, IUB.

The Punjab Civil Defense Bahawalpur team visited The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and, in collaboration with the Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OSAH), organized a special awareness camp on campus. The event was inaugurated by Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, who appreciated the joint efforts of OSAH and the Civil Defense team.

He encouraged all teaching, non-teaching staff, and students to actively participate in the volunteer registration drive and contribute to the success of this campaign. He further emphasized the importance of working together to build a strong and resilient Pakistan.

The Office of Safety and Health (OSAH) organized a one-week Health and Safety Training for the students of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computing, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

🧯 The training was jointly conducted by OSAH and Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur team under the kind direction of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran.

💻 Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Imran Sarwar Bajwa, Chairman Department of Computer Science, for his continuous support and full cooperation.

👨‍🏫 The sessions were conducted by Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Manager OSAH, Along with rescue 1122 bahawalpur team they delivered practical demonstrations and awareness lectures to students.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, visited the Civil Defence Volunteer Registration and Awareness Camp established at the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus. The camp was jointly organized by the Office of Safety and Health (OSAH) and the Civil Defence Department, Bahawalpur.

The Civil Defence team, comprising Madam Fatima Khan (Assistant Director Civil Defence Bahawalpur & D.G. Khan), Mr. Faheem Imdad (Civil Defence Officer Bahawalpur), and Mr. Imran Mazhar (Senior Instructor Civil Defence), collaborated with OSAH to organize and manage the camp activities.

During the visit, the Worthy Vice Chancellor was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf (Director Student Affairs), Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim (Manager, OSAH), Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Dogar (Senior Coordinator, OSAH), and Mr. Talha Khan Afridi (Senior Coordinator, OSAH).

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the commendable efforts of the Civil Defence Department and the Office of Occupational Safety and Health in organizing this valuable initiative, which aims to promote safety awareness, emergency preparedness, and volunteer registration among university students and staff.

The Office of Safety and Health (OSAH), in collaboration with Rescue 1122, successfully organized a special training program for Hostel Staff (Office Attendants) from 22nd September 2025 to 26th September 2025.

This training covered a wide range of important topics and practical drills to ensure that our staff can respond effectively and promptly in case of any emergency.

Alhamdulillah, the training was completed successfully, and now our trained staff is fully prepared for emergency response, In Sha Allah.

The entire training was smoothly conducted under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim (Manager OSAH), Talha Khan Afridi, and Muhammad Ashraf Dogar.

🌊 OSAH IUB Flood Observation Activity 🌊

Today, September 8, 2025, the OSAH team visited Basti Balochan, Bahawalpur to observe the current flood situation. Upon arrival, it was noted that the river water had entered the fields.

During this visit, the OSAH team extended support to an elderly man and assisted in harvesting his crops to ensure a safe evacuation.

This entire activity was carried out under the supervision of Manager OSAH, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim.

On 1st September 2025, the OSAH team conducted a physical visit to Basti Ahmed Wala Kho, Bahawalpur, which had earlier been declared a broken bund area during Flood 2025. During the visit, the team provided safety measures and raised awareness among the local residents regarding precautionary steps and necessary actions to ensure their safety.
