𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝘇𝗵𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱/𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱 (𝗧.𝗜., 𝗗.𝗡.𝗣.) 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻.

Soil Science Society of Pakistan (SSSP), a prestigious professional body of soil scientists/ environmental scientists, organized a national-level award competition titled the “Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad (T.I., D.N.P.) Innovative Concept Award 2026.”

In this highly competitive initiative, Dr. Azhar Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of Soil Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, research Idea selected and awarded “Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad (T.I., D.N.P.) Innovative Concept Award 2026.” along with prize money.

His innovative Concept in the cetegory of High Efficiency Fertilizer for Higher Soil pH was recognized as groundbreaking contribution in Soil Science

The award was conferred during the 21st International Congress of the Soil Science Society of Pakistan, held at University of Poonch Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, from May 05–07, 2026.

This award initiative was a collaborative effort of the Soil Science Society of Pakistan, Microbial Biotechnologies Pvt. Ltd., and renowned international scientist Dr. Shabeer A. Shahid Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait.

It is a proud moment for the Department of Soil Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, as Mr. Muhammad Hanzala Mansha has been awarded the SSSP Gold Medal by the Soil Science Society of Pakistan. The Gold Medal was presented at the 21st International Congress of Soil Science, held at the University of Agriculture Poonch, Rawalakot from May 05-07, 2026. The SSSP Gold Medal was awarded for securing the highest percentage in BSc (Hons) Agriculture, Soil Science 2024, throughout South Punjab Province.
