Dr. Azhar Hussain, Associate Professor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan has successfully completed a 15-day professional training in China, held from 7 December to 21 December, 2025 entitled โFuture Ready Academic Leadership: Governance Innovation and AI Integration in Higher Education,โ conducted under the Advanced Training Program for Senior Academics and Administrators from Pakistani Higher Education Institutions.
The training was organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, the China Association of Higher Education, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Consortium of Universities (CPEC Consortium of Universities), and hosted by Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), China.
The program comprised academic lecture sessions along with institutional and exposure visits to Peking University, other world-ranked universities, and various higher education institutions across China. In addition, participants engaged in cultural visits, providing a broader understanding of Chinaโs heritage and contemporary society. These activities offered participants practical insights into higher education governance, innovation in academic leadership, and the integration of artificial intelligence in contemporary academic systems.
The concluding ceremony was held at the China Association of Higher Education in Beijing. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Gao Xiaojie, Deputy Secretary-General, China Association of Higher Education.
The ceremony featured addresses by Mr. Zhang Daliang, Vice President, China Association of Higher Education, Ms. Aayesha Ikram, Director General (Global Cooperation), Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and Mr. Zhu Pengxiao, Vice President, Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
Certificates were awarded by Prof. Dr. Zheng Siming, Vice Dean, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, China.
Dr. Azhar Hussain was among the 25 members delegations from various universities of Pakistan selected for this prestigious training program.
