Pakistan–China International Conference on Food-Medicine Homology, Nutrition, and Health Inaugurated at SZABIST

Under the auspices of OIC-COMSTECH, the Pakistan–China International Conference on Food-Medicine Homology, Nutrition, and Health was successfully inaugurated at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology. The conference brought together eminent scientists, policymakers, regulators, and industry experts from Pakistan and China to foster collaboration in health sciences, nutrition, and traditional medicine.

Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, attended the conference as a distinguished participant. Addressing the audience, she highlighted the growing importance of interdisciplinary research in the domains of food, medicine, and nutrition. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, held a cordial and dignified meeting with Professor Dr. Mazhar Muhammad Saleem, Director General of the National Language Promotion Department (Urdu), in an intellectually enriching and refined environment.

The meeting was also graced by the presence of Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad, whose participation further elevated the significance of the occasion. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Shazia Anjum presented a souvenir to the Chairman HEC as a gesture of respect and institutional goodwill. Shakir Ali was also in attendance, adding further academic depth to the proceedings.

During this meaningful engagement, comprehensive discussions were held on a range of academic and literary matters, with particular emphasis on the translation and publication of scholarly works, as well as the promotion of the Urdu language at both national and international levels. The interaction reflected a constructive exchange of ideas marked by academic insight and mutual respect.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on areas of shared academic and literary interest. The dialogue focused on promoting literary culture within universities, encouraging creative expression among students, and strengthening collaboration for the advancement of literature at the national level. Special emphasis was placed on the establishment and strengthening of the Iqbal Chair, promotion of the thought and philosophy of Allama Iqbal, and the intellectual development of youth through sustained academic and literary initiatives. Both parties agreed on the importance of organizing seminars, conferences, literary dialogues, and research activities on a regular basis to foster a vibrant intellectual environment.

گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں نیشنل کمیشن فار ہیومن ڈویلپمنٹ (NCHD) کے اشتراک سے ایک آگاہی و تربیتی سیشن کا انعقاد کیا گیا، جس کا مقصد شرحِ خواندگی میں اضافہ اور معاشرتی ترقی کے لیے اجتماعی شعور کو فروغ دینا تھا۔ اس موقع پر میاں عبدالغفار، ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر NCHD بہاولپور نے بطور مہمانِ خصوصی شرکت کی اور ادارے کا جامع تعارف پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے تعلیم کے فروغ اور کمیونٹی ڈویلپمنٹ میں NCHD کے کلیدی کردار کو اجاگر کیا۔ اپنے خطاب میں انہوں نے وزیرِ اعظم کے “Each One Teach One (EOTO)” اقدام پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے بتایا کہ اس پروگرام کا مقصد ہر فرد کو کم از کم ایک شخص کو تعلیم دینے کی ترغیب دینا ہے تاکہ ملک میں شرحِ خواندگی کو بہتر بنایا جا سکے۔ انہوں نے اس امر پر زور دیا کہ تعلیم کے فروغ کے لیے اجتماعی کاوشیں ناگزیر ہیں۔ ان کا سیشن نہایت معلوماتی اور شرکاء کے لیے حوصلہ افزا ثابت ہوا۔ یونیورسٹی کنوینئر EOTO پروگرام پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مسرت اظہر ڈین فیکلٹی آف آرٹس اینڈ سوشل سائنسز نے اپنے خطاب میں تعلیم کی اہمیت، بالخصوص خواتین کی تعلیم کے فروغ پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ شرحِ خواندگی میں اضافہ قومی ترقی کی بنیاد ہے اور اس نوعیت کے تربیتی پروگرامز طلبہ و طالبات میں ذمہ داری کا احساس بیدار کرتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے NCHD کی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ یونیورسٹی اس مشن میں ہر ممکن تعاون جاری رکھے گی۔ٹریننگ سیشن کے دوران شکیلہ قادر، اسسٹنٹ ڈائریکٹر لٹریسی NCHD بہاولپور نے خواندگی کی کتب کے حوالے سے عملی تربیت فراہم کی، جبکہ فیلڈ آفیسرز محمد نعمان،مس انعم، گلشن ناصر اور محمد طارق نے بھی تربیتی سرگرمیوں میں بھرپور کردار ادا کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر رابعہ باہو اور مس رمشا ارشاد بطور فوکل پرسن پروگرام کے انتظامی و تنظیمی امور کو مؤثر انداز میں سرانجام دیا۔ آخر میں اس عزم کا اظہار کیا گیا کہ اس نوعیت کی سرگرمیاں مستقبل میں بھی جاری رکھی جائیں گی تاکہ معاشرے میں تعلیم کے فروغ اور شعور کی بیداری کو مزید تقویت دی جا سکے۔

GSCWU Students Secure Victory in All Pakistan Inter-University Chess Championship 2025–26

The students of Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU), Bahawalpur, have achieved a remarkable success by winning their opening match against Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore, in the All Pakistan Inter-University Chess Championship 2025–26. On this commendable achievement, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum extended her heartfelt congratulations to the students for their outstanding performance. She lauded their dedication, strategic skills, and team spirit that led to this impressive victory at the national level.

The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the efforts of Ms. Javeria Saleem, Deputy Director Sports, GSCWU, for her professional training, continuous guidance, and commitment in preparing the team for the championship. She acknowledged that such achievements reflect the strong sports culture being promoted at the university.

بہاولپور(پ ر)گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زیرِ اہتمام “انٹرنیشنل گرلز اِن آئی سی ٹی ڈے” کے موقع پر سائبر سکیورٹی زون کے تعاون سے ایک خصوصی تربیتی پروگرام کا انعقاد کیا گیا، جس کا مقصد طالبات کو ڈیجیٹل دنیا میں درپیش خطرات سے آگاہ کرنا اور انہیں ٹیکنالوجی کے میدان میں خود انحصاری کی جانب راغب کرنا تھا۔ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے مہمان مقرر سی ای او سائبر سکیورٹی زون محمد اسد الرحمٰن نے کہا کہ موجودہ دور میں سائبر سکیورٹی نہ صرف ایک تکنیکی ضرورت بلکہ قومی سلامتی اور انفرادی تحفظ کا اہم ستون بن چکی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ خواتین کو اس شعبے میں بااختیار بنا کر ایک محفوظ ڈیجیٹل معاشرے کی بنیاد رکھی جا سکتی ہے۔انہوں نے وائس چانسلر گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی تعلیمی و انتظامی کاوشوں کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کیا گیا اور اس عزم کا اظہار کیا گیا کہ جامعہ طالبات کو جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ تعلیم و تربیت فراہم کرتی رہیں۔ آخر میں انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ ان کا ادارہ خواتین کو ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں جدید مہارتوں سے آراستہ کرنے اور انہیں باعزت روزگار کے مواقع فراہم کرنے کے لیے کوشاں ہے۔ پروگرام کے دوران ماہر ٹرینرز ہارون عتیق اور ارسلان اصغر نے طالبات کو لائیو ہیکنگ اور دفاعی تکنیکوں کے حوالے سے عملی تربیت فراہم کی۔ ورکشاپ کو مؤثر اور عملی بنانے کے لیے “سی ٹی ایف” (Capture The Flag) ہیکنگ مقابلے کا بھی انعقاد کیا گیا، جس کے ذریعے طالبات کو ڈیجیٹل سسٹمز میں موجود خامیوں کی نشاندہی اور ان کے تدارک کے عملی طریقے سکھائے گئے۔ مقابلے میں طالبات نے غیر معمولی تکنیکی صلاحیتوں کا مظاہرہ کیا، جن میں مریم عابد، افراح ندیم اور سمعیہ اعجاز نے نمایاں پوزیشنز حاصل کیں۔ نمایاں کارکردگی دکھانے والی طالبات میں انعامات اور اسناد تقسیم کی گئیں۔ اس موقع پر انم بنت مدثر نے “انٹرنیشنل گرلز اِن آئی سی ٹی ڈے” کی اہمیت اور پروگرام کے اغراض و مقاصد پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس نوعیت کی سرگرمیاں طالبات کے اعتماد میں اضافہ کرتی ہیں اور انہیں عملی میدان میں آگے بڑھنے کے قابل بناتی ہیں۔ پروگرام کے انعقاد میں شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کی لیکچررز ڈاکٹر عظمیٰ وحید اور مس عارفہ ماہم کا خصوصی تعاون شامل رہا، جن کی کاوشوں کو شرکاء نے سراہا اور اسے طالبات کے لیے ایک مثبت اور تعمیری پیش رفت قرار دیا۔
