*Eastern Medicine in the Modern Era: Innovation, Integration and Global Scope*
on February 12, 2026.

The seminar brought together renowned experts in Eastern medicine, including *Dr. Tanveer Ali*, PhD in Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Institute of Integrative Medicine, Dalian Medical University, China, who delivered the keynote lecture on integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western medical practices. Other notable speakers included *Mr. M. Asad Ghafoor*, College of Life Sciences, Northwest A&F University, China, and *Dr. Sehrish Rana*, Shandong Normal University, China, who shared insights on global scope, research opportunities, and emerging trends in Eastern medicine.

Mr. Bashir Ahmad has successfully defended his PhD dissertation on 09 January 2026 in the discipline of Eastern Medicine at the University College of Conventional Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).

His research was conducted under the supervision of *Dr. Khalil Ahmad Ansari*, Assistant Professor, UCCM, IUB. The thesis defence was chaired by *Prof. Dr. Qaiser Jabeen*, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, and *Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Asif*, Principal, UCCM. The esteemed external examiner was *Dr. Shahbaz Ahmad Zaki*, Assistant Professor, University of Haripur, KPK.

Faculty members, scholars, academicians and Physicians from the relevant feild attended the defence.

**Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences Bids Farewell to Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad & Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar with a Heartfelt Celebration**

Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences hosted a farewell party to honor Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad who is leaving the Islamia University of Bahawalpur after completion of his dedicated services & Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar who has recently completed his tremendous professional and leadership tenure at IUB.

The celebration, held on 19/03/2025 at Four Seasons Hotel Bahawalpur attended by all the faculty members who gathered to pay tribute to both the personalities's remarkable contributions to the organization.
The farewell party featured a series of heartfelt speeches, presentations, and gift-giving ceremonies.
