The Environmental Society of The University of Faisalabad, in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency Punjab (EPA), successfully organized a commemorative event to mark World Environment Day 2026 under the theme โInspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.โ
The event brought together distinguished representatives from government, industry, and environmental organizations to discuss pressing environmental challenges and sustainable solutions for a greener future. The gathering was graced by esteemed guest speakers including ADC F & P Mr. Mudassir Mumtaz from Commissioner Office Faisalabad, Acting President Mr. Naveed Akram from The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and industry โ FCCI, Acting Chairman APTPMA Mr. Hafiz Asghar, and President Mr. Shakeel Ansari from Textile Sizing Association whose valuable insights highlighted the importance of collective action toward environmental protection and climate resilience.
The event concluded with inspiring remarks by Rector, The University of Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Aman Ullah Malik, who highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility and urged participants to play an active role in building a sustainable future.
The event was organized by Advisor Environmental Society Dr. Shaista Shafiq, Head, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, The University of Faisalabad, and Deputy Director Mr. Usman Azhar from Environmental Protection Agency Punjab (EPA). Representatives from WWF-Pakistan also participated in the event, contributing to discussions on environmental awareness, conservation, and sustainable development.
The event concluded with the signing of an Environmental Protection Pledge, an initiative led by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Distinguished guests, organizers, and participants collectively pledged their commitment to environmental conservation, sustainable practices, and building a greener future for generations to come.
The program served as a platform for collaboration among academia, government institutions, industry leaders, and environmental organizations, reinforcing a shared commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and creating a sustainable future for generations to come.
