The Department of Dermal Sciences, The University of Faisalabad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kashaf's Laser Institute, Faisalabad. This partnership brings together academic education and clinical practice in the fields of dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

Kashaf's Laser Institute is a well-established center with over a decade of experience in clinical and aesthetic skincare, advanced laser technologies, and a team of highly qualified dermatologists.

Through this MoU, students will gain supervised, hands-on exposure to real patients and modern clinical procedures. They will also participate in joint workshops, practical training, collaborative research projects, and community skin health initiatives conducted at the institute.

By bridging classroom learning with practical experience at a leading clinical facility, this collaboration will significantly enhance students' clinical competence, professional skills, and readiness for careers in dermal sciences.

We look forward to working with Kashaf's Laser Institute to develop competent professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality skin care services to the community.

The conference featured an interdisciplinary session titled β€œPsychological, Cultural, and Narrative Dimensions of Wound and Scar,” chaired by Dr. Muhammad Asif and co-chaired by Dr. Asim Aqeel, highlighting literary, psychological, and socio-cultural interpretations of wounds and scars.

Presentations explored trauma, identity, and representation across media and literature, including studies on digital shaming, patriarchal trauma in Pakistani drama, colorism, postcolonial identity, and narrative trauma in contemporary texts.

The Young Researchers Session, chaired by Dr. Noor I. Kiran and co-chaired by Dr. Komal Atta, showcased clinical and dermal science research on wound healing, advanced dressings, aesthetic preferences, and inclusive wound assessment practices, emphasizing innovation and diversity in healthcare research.

The conference concluded with an engaging Poster Presentation Competition, showcasing a diverse range of research contributions from both medical and humanities disciplines. Participants presented insightful studies on clinical practices, public health awareness, and the socio-cultural dimensions of wounds and scars, reflecting the interdisciplinary spirit of ICDS 2026. From the Department of English Language and Literature, Ms. Aiza Ali secured the 1st position for her outstanding scholarly contribution, while the 2nd position was jointly awarded to Ms. Areej Abid and Mr. M. Aman (MPhil English Literature) for their compelling and critically enriched presentations. The 3rd position was shared by Ms. Noor Fatima (Department of English Language and Literature) and an MBBS team presentation led by Ms. Zainab Attiq (3rd Year MBBS), with Ms. Sahar Zafar (1st Year MBBS) as co-presenter. Their work was particularly appreciated for its clinical relevance and research depth.
The poster session not only celebrated academic excellence but also highlighted the value of cross-disciplinary inquiry, reinforcing the conference’s commitment to integrating scientific innovation with humanistic perspectives in advancing wound management and skin repair.

Scientific Session on Multidisciplinary and Integrated Approaches to Wound Healing at ICDS 2026 highlighted the importance of collaborative, patient-centered care in modern healthcare. Chaired by Prof Dr Mussarat-ul-Hasnain and co-chaired by Prof Dr Ahmed Hassan, the session focused on strengthening integrated healthcare models.

Key presentations included the role of nursing practices in infection control, interprofessional collaboration in healthcare teams, and the use of AI and gamified approaches to enhance clinical reasoning in wound care.
