Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies - TUF Striving with missionary spirit for the upbringing according to the parameters of Islamic education

Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies is one of the oldest Department of, The University of Faisalabad and was founded in 2002 to fulfill the need of scholars of Islamic studies and Arabic. The program integrates modern professional skills with core Islamic Studies and social disciplines. The faculty of Arabic and Islamic studies after realizing its significance has started BS programs both in

Islamic Studies and Arabic and research projects from BS to Post graduate levels. It has open opportunities for the youth to do research work at M Phil level leading to attaining PhD. It provides the theological, spiritual and religious standing to the society of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Our students must be able to solve the contemporary issues and introduce Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance and mutual harmony to the people of Pakistan. Arabic language is one of the advanced languages of the world. In spite of being the oldest language it stand amongst the living languages of the world. Its importance in Muslim society or a country becomes utmost and especially for us in Pakistan. Moreover, the majesty of the Muslim civilization, culture and the salinity of the Muslim Arab found in this prestigious language. Short courses concerning Fehm-e-Qur’an and Dor-e-Tafseer e Quran also offered. Department also conducted different seminars, workshops and conferences in respect of different Islamic events, religious personalities and contemporary issues in the field of Islamic Studies and Arabic throughout the year in collaboration with Religious Society of The University of Faisalabad. On completion of the program the graduates will have profound capabilities to serve the nation in true spirit of Islam. They are providing their services in educational research and religious institutions. We are offering following degrees in Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Event Report: Panel Discussion on "Muwakhat-e-Madina aur Talaba ki Tameer-e-Seerat o Kirdar"

The Department of Islamic Studies and the Islamic Philosophical Society, The University of Faisalabad successfully organized a panel discussion on "Muwakhat-e-Madina aur Talaba ki Tameer-e-Seerat o Kirdar" on May 4th, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Mukhtar Auditorium. The event aimed to highlight the importance of Islamic brotherhood and character building among students in light of the historic event of Muwakhat-e-Madina.

The session commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Taha Abdul Razaq, which created a spiritual atmosphere followed by Naat-e-Rasool (SAW) presented by Usama Bin Tariq. Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, graced the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized how the spirit of Muwakhat-e-Madina provides a timeless model for unity, sacrifice and moral development in modern educational institutions.

The distinguished panelists included Dr. Sobia Maqsood from National Business School, Miss Javaria Maqsood, Lecturer in Pakistan Studies, History & IR at GCWUF & TUF and Dr. Muhammad Imtiaz, Principal of Jamia Taleem ul Quran. The panelists discussed the practical application of Islamic values in student life role of teachers in character building and the need to revive the spirit of brotherhood to address contemporary social challenges. An interactive Q&A session followed, where students actively participated and shared their perspectives.

The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony to acknowledge the contributions of organizers and participants. The auditorium was filled to capacity with faculty members and students from various departments.

The event successfully achieved its objective of promoting ethical awareness and unity among students and was appreciated by all attendees for its insightful discussions and effective organization.

The Department of Islamic Studies, TUF organized a “Seminar and Book Review, Muslim-Christian Cooperation: Experiences and Reflections” on countering extremism, focusing on interfaith dialogue.
The opening remarks were delivered by Professor Dr Matloob Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who presided over the session. In his address, he highlighted key examples from the Holy Prophet (SAW)’s life (Seerah), including the Charter of Madinah and the event of Najran, to underscore principles of coexistence and mutual respect.

The keynote speaker, Professor Dr Hermann Robogh from Australia, who is affiliated with Minhaj University Lahore, spoke on the interpretation and understanding of Islam and Christianity in the contemporary global context. He elaborated on the application of these teachings across various spheres of human life, as well as the ethics of international interfaith relations and the importance of peaceful coexistence.

His talk was delivered in the context of the internationally published research volume, “A Vision for Muslim-Christian Cooperation: Experiences and Reflections” which he edited. The book features scholarly contributions from 20 researchers representing Europe, Canada, Australia, Indonesia and Pakistan, all addressing the theme of peaceful coexistence. It also includes a paper by Dr Ahmad Raza ul-Habib from The University of Faisalabad.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Katsiaryna Hurbik, from the Department of English Language and Literature who expressed goodwill and appreciation to the guests.

The research was completed under the supervision of Dr. Humaira Khalil, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Islamic Studies.

This scholarly work highlights the significant role of the miracles of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the global spread of Islam.

The webinar titled “امام احمد رضا خان رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کی تصانیف میں سائنس و مذہب ہی ہم آہنگی کا جائزہ” was organized by the Department of Arabic & Islamic Studies University of Faisalabad on Friday, 3 April 2026 at 9:00 AM. The event was held at the Amin Campus.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by *Taha Abdul Razaq*, followed by a Naat performed by *Husnain Ahmad*. The guest speaker, *Dr. Muhammad Adnan Hamid* visiting faculty of NTU Faisalabad delivered an insightful presentation on the topic highlighting strong scholarly points that explored the harmony between science and religion in the works of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan. His discourse was engaging and educational inspiring deep reflection among participants.

The session was honored by the chief guest, *Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad* Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences who concluded the event with a meaningful speech and a dua (prayer).
