Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies - TUF Striving with missionary spirit for the upbringing according to the parameters of Islamic education

Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies is one of the oldest Department of, The University of Faisalabad and was founded in 2002 to fulfill the need of scholars of Islamic studies and Arabic. The program integrates modern professional skills with core Islamic Studies and social disciplines. The faculty of Arabic and Islamic studies after realizing its significance has started BS programs both in

Islamic Studies and Arabic and research projects from BS to Post graduate levels. It has open opportunities for the youth to do research work at M Phil level leading to attaining PhD. It provides the theological, spiritual and religious standing to the society of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Our students must be able to solve the contemporary issues and introduce Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance and mutual harmony to the people of Pakistan. Arabic language is one of the advanced languages of the world. In spite of being the oldest language it stand amongst the living languages of the world. Its importance in Muslim society or a country becomes utmost and especially for us in Pakistan. Moreover, the majesty of the Muslim civilization, culture and the salinity of the Muslim Arab found in this prestigious language. Short courses concerning Fehm-e-Qurโ€™an and Dor-e-Tafseer e Quran also offered. Department also conducted different seminars, workshops and conferences in respect of different Islamic events, religious personalities and contemporary issues in the field of Islamic Studies and Arabic throughout the year in collaboration with Religious Society of The University of Faisalabad. On completion of the program the graduates will have profound capabilities to serve the nation in true spirit of Islam. They are providing their services in educational research and religious institutions. We are offering following degrees in Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies.

The Department of Islamic Studies, Amin Campus, hosted a beautiful "Bazm-e-Darood o Salaam" as a tohfa-e-aqeedat for Holy Prophet ๏ทบ.
The program opened with Qiraat by Dr. Ateeb (ORIC) and a heartfelt Naat by Mr. Shafiq (Accounts) and Dr. Kalsoom (Islamic Studies). Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, addressed the gathering on the significance and blessings of Darood o Salaam.
Faculty members then recited Darood-e-Pak individually, followed by a collective recitation of Salaam, and a special Dua led by Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, marking the inauguration of Rabi-ul-Awwal activities across the campus.

The Department of Islamic Studies, Saleem Campus, successfully organized an International Faculty Development Webinar under the Faculty Capacity Building Program on the theme "Academic Excellence through Qur'anic Methodology: Enhancing Teaching, Research, and Character."

The webinar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, followed by a Naat-e-Rasool ๏ทบ. The participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, who emphasized the importance of continuous faculty development and the integration of Qur'anic principles into teaching, research, and professional practice.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Zia Ahmad, Former Head of Islamic Studies, West Fife Islamic Education and Welfare Centre, Scotland. He shared valuable insights on how Qur'anic methodology can strengthen academic excellence, enhance research quality, improve teaching practices, and promote ethical and character development among educators.
The session provided a valuable platform for faculty members to exchange ideas and reaffirmed the Department's commitment to promoting academic excellence through continuous professional development and the guidance of the Holy Qur'an.

The Department of Islamic Studies, Amin Campus, successfully organized a Faculty Development Webinar Series on the theme "Teaching and Learning Qirฤ'at al-Qur'an Using Digital Technologies: Opportunities, Challenges, and Best Practices."

The webinar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Muhammad Tauqeer Shah (MPhil Scholar), followed by a Naat-e-Rasool ๏ทบ by Ms. Aneeqa (BSAM). The participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, who highlighted the importance of integrating digital technologies into Qur'anic education.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Mehmood, Assistant Professor, Riphah International University, who discussed the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and digital technologies in teaching and learning the Holy Qur'an. He highlighted the opportunities AI offers for enhancing Qur'anic education, while also addressing its potential challenges, ethical considerations, and the importance of preserving the authenticity and integrity of Qirฤ'at.

The Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, The University of Faisalabad, successfully organized a Faculty Development Workshop 2026 titled "AI Tools for Smart Teaching & Content Development" on 23 July 2026.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Sobia Riaz, Coordinator and Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, who served as the resource person. She shared practical insights into the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for smart teaching, content development, and enhancing academic productivity. The session also emphasized the ethical and responsible use of AI in higher education.

Faculty members actively participated in the workshop and gained valuable hands-on experience with AI-powered tools that can enhance teaching methodologies, improve content creation, and promote innovative learning practices.

This initiative reflects the Department of Islamic Studies' commitment to fostering innovation, digital transformation, and excellence in teaching and learning through continuous faculty development.
