Well Done Aima Rizwan!
Aima Rizwan of ABWA Medical College’s pioneering class won the first prize in the English Declamation contest and second prize in the English Essay competition held at the University of Faisalabad, on date 25th April, 2019.

The competition, in which students from all universities, constituent colleges and medical college participated, was organized by #.

Out of the 24 Competitive events, Aima Rizwan participated in the English Declamation contest and Essay writing competition and had the distinction of securing first and second positions in them the stellar performance was not only a matter of pride for her personally but a singular honor for her Alma Mater.

About Prof. Dr. Rashid Latif
Born in 1938, Professor Rashid Latif Khan graduated from Nishtar Medical College, Multan in 1961. Got his training in OBGYN in UK and passed MRCOG and FRCS Edinburgh. Back in Pakistan he was appointed Assistant Professor at Nishtar Medical College Multan in 1969. Later he served as Professor of OBGYN at QAMC, Bahawalpur, Nishtar Medical College Multan and Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. Then he was appointed Dean Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore from where retired in August 1998. He was later made Professor Emeritus at Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore.

He was conferred Fellowship of Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 1979, Fellowship of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in 1987, Fellowships of Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, and Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1994.

Besides being examiner of undergraduates has been postgraduate examiner in Pakistan, Bangladesh and UK. He has been President of Society of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of Pakistan, Founder President of IVF Society of Pakistan, Past-Chairman Representative Committee of Royal College of Obstetricians& Gynaecologists, London, President of South Asian Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Member of Executive Board of International Federation of Gynaecologists & Obstetricians (FIGO) for nine years. He was Chairman of the Country Team of FIGO’s Save the Mothers Fund Project and also Chairman of FIGO Women’s Rights to Reproductive and Sexual Health.

He was elected a Member of the Council of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan for the first time in 1998 and is serving fourth consecutive term on that council. During this time he has served two terms as Vice-President of CPSP.

He wrote a book of Gynaecology published for the first time in 1981 and this year he published its 6th edition. He has read original papers on all the continents from Australia to South America and chaired scientific sessions of international conferences abroad.

Professor Rashid Latif Khan set up the first IVF centre in Pakistan in 1984 and delivered the first test tube baby not only of Pakistanbut of South Asia in 1989, exactly 11 years after the birth of the first test tube baby of the world. In recognition of his services to the specialty and the field of medicine he was awarded Sitar-e-Imtiaz in 1992 by the President of Pakistan.

Teaching has been his greatest passion at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. Being a popular teacher he has been the inspiration for a legion of doctors who adopted OBGYN as their specialty. He still holds regular postgraduate classes, which are open to all without any charges.

In 1994 he established a private hospital in Lahore, which over the years has earned a well-deserved reputation of a health facility with high-class professional services. And in 2010 he set up a private medical college along with its own 400-bed teaching hospital adjacent to state-of-the-art college building. The college has been recognized as a benchmark of standard for private medical colleges while its teaching hospital brings quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the poor.

STUDENTS WHO APPLIED FOR ADMISSION IN MBBS IN ABWA MEDICAL COLLEGE

Dear Students

It is to inform you that UHS has published list of students waiting for admission in MBBS class to Abwa Medical College Faisalabad for the session 2018‐19, the list is available on our web site and page (address mentioned in para 6 below). Please note the following details: Classes had started from : April 3rd 2019
Class timing : 8.00 AM to 3.00 PM
It is informed that vacant seats in Abwa Medical College will be filled as per merit list published by UHS. For further detail, it is advised to students appearing in waiting list to visit the College between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM any day (including Sunday) till 8th April 2019.
Admission is subject to the following requirements as per details issued by University of Health sciences, Lahore and Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Islamabad.
Number of vacant seats after admissions as per 2nd Open Merit Selection / Upgradation List
Original relevant educational certificates
Domicile certificate in original
Income tax return for the year 2017‐18 of father/guardian
Wealth tax statement for the year 2017‐18 of father/guardian
Physical fitness certificate (complimentary fitness screening tests of students may be performed by Teaching Hospital of Abwa Medical College on request of intended student/s).

Students appearing in waiting list and interested in admission in Abwa Medical College are advised to visit College along with above mentioned documents and a Cross Cheque amounting Rs. 60,000 in favor of Abwa Knowledge Village (Pvt) Ltd. The remaining fee shall be received (through pay order / cross cheque / on line deposit) after final selection for admission as per UHS merit list and if you are not selected in final merit list the cross cheque of Rs. 60,000 shall be returned to you. The fee schedule has been uploaded on College website and page.

It is important to apprise you that classes have already started from April 3rd 2019 and College has recorded lectures to facilitate you so that you can cover the topics imparted before your joining.
