*Combined Entry Test for Fall Admissions 2026 at UET including BSc Textile Engineering program*

For admission in UET Lahore & all UET Campuses. ECAT is required for most of the undergraduate programs including BSc Textile Engineering program. ECAT is conducted twice a year. Registration for the first attempt is currently open, while registration for the second attempt will open in March 2026. If you appear in both attempts your best score will be considered for admission. You can also apply to more than 70+ programs in Engineering, Computing, Science and Technology across 5 UET Campuses based on your ECAT score.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin (Campus Coordinator, UET FSD & Chairman Textile Engineering) exhibited his successful project at *HEC TDF Impact Showcasing (TIS'25) event* held on 30th December 2025. A total of 70 successful projects since 2016 were showcased at Pakistan China Friendship Center, Islamabad. His project was among the two projects of UET Lahore and its Campuses exhibited at this event. This TDF project and patent protected technology "Water, energy and cost efficient textile bleach recycling" was completed in 2021 and it was licensed to Interloop where it is running successfully at full production scale since then. This innovative technology leads to 77% water saving, 20% chemical saving with significant saving of CO2 emissions and wastewater generation.

TIS’25 brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, entrepreneurs, and development partners, providing a platform to witness ideas translating into solutions and to foster new partnerships for scaling promising technologies. The Technology Development Fund, launched in 2016 under PSDP, continues to serve as a national mechanism for converting academic innovation into socio-economic impact and has been extended until June 2027.
Note: This technology has been further improved since its licensing and extended to the innovative and efficient recycling of other Textile processes.

Congratulations to Engr. Taqueer Nadir on successful defense of his MSc thesis for the program of MSc Textile and Materials Engineering at the Department of Textile Engineering. His research work was "Development of sustainable denim based on biodegradable fiber blended double yarns of oricell, h**p & cotton”
His research supervisor was Dr. Aamer Abbas Khan and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin.
Eng. Taqueer has worked as Senior Assistant Manger in CBL and he is currently running his own business with success.

The Department of Textile Engineering, UET Lahore Faisalabad Campus has successfully organized two mega events on textile sustainability (10th December 2025);
1- 8th International Conference on Sustainable Textile (ICST-2025)

2- All Pakistan Textile Sustainability Student Competition 2025

More than 16 International textile experts and 8 national speakers presented their knowledge, research and experience related to diverse areas of textile sustainability at Department of Textile Engineering, UET Lahore, Faisalabad Campus. It was the biggest gathering in Pakistan on textile sustainability.

The Vice Chancellor UET, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (Chief Patron, ICST-2025) emphasised that this conference reflect UET’s commitment in developing solutions that align with the united nations sustainable development goals and its support for the textile sector. He expressed his gratitude for the collaborators and sponsors of the conference. He also appreciated the organising team including faculty, students & staff of textile engineering department for conducting such successful events. He said that these events play a very crucial role in portraying the positive & true image of university serving the community and bridging the gap between industry and academia.

The Campus Head and Chairman Textile Engineering, Prof Dr. Muhammad Mohsin & team of textile department warmly welcomed all the guests at the conference.

"All Pakistan Textile Sustainability Student Competition 2025"

Two mega events of textile sustainability were organised by the Department of Textile Engineering, UET Lahore, Faisalabad Campus. This annual competition has been arranged for consecutively 8 years to promote culture of sustainability in textile. There were more than 400 projects displayed by the students from 20 institutes from all over the Pakistan.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor, UET Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI) officially inaugurated the "All Pakistan Textile Sustainability Student Competition 2025" —encouraging creative solutions for a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable textile sector of Pakistan.

The presence of Worthy Vice Chancellor added immense value & inspiration to the event. His insights, encouragement, and vision for a sustainable academic and industrial ecosystem set a motivating tone for all participants, faculty members, students, and industry representatives present.

A special moment of the event was the Vice Chancellor’s heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional planning and flawless ex*****on demonstrated by the organizing team. He commended the team for their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication in bringing together such a comprehensive and engaging event.

This competition provided a dynamic platform designed to encourage innovation, responsibility, and forward-thinking solutions for the future of Pakistan’s sustainable textile sector.
