National Textile University proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with great patriotism and national spirit.
The ceremony commenced with the flag hoisting by Worthy Rector, Dr. Rashid Masood, followed by smart salute presented by the University's vigilant and dedicated security guards, reflecting their unwavering commitment and discipline.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Zulfiqar, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, Registrar Salman Saif, Dr. Muhammad, Advisor Students, Dr. Danish Mehmood, along with faculty members, officers, staff, and students.

NTU Students Honoured with Prime Minister’s Youth Excellence Award 2026
Heartiest congratulations to the National Textile University on this remarkable national achievement! 🎉
We are immensely proud to announce that two talented NTU students have been awarded among the Top 10 students nationwide for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Youth Excellence Award 2026:
🏆 Ms Amna Nadeem – Faisalabad Business School
🏆 Ms Maira Shaikh – School of Engineering & Technology NTU

Their selection is a tremendous honour for NTU and a testament to their exceptional talent, dedication, and achievements.

The recognition becomes even more significant considering that nominations were received from 250 universities across Pakistan, with more than 600 approx. students considered through a highly competitive selection process. Among these outstanding candidates, only the Top 10 students were selected for this prestigious Prime Minister’s Excellence Award—and NTU proudly has two students among the national awardees.

The awards were presented on International Youth Day, 12 August 2026, at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, where the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, also announced the National Youth Employment Policy, reaffirming the government's commitment to creating greater opportunities and empowering Pakistan's youth.

In coordination with the respective NTU departments, the Advisor Students Office, in consultation with the Worthy Rector Prof. Dr. Rashid Masood facilitated the final award nominations with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP). Ms Nadia Shamim, Asst. Director, Student Affairs and Focal Person, NTU Youth Development Centre, was also invited to attend the award ceremony.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Prime Minister’s Youth Programme; Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik, Deputy Secretary; and Syed Waqar Hussain Shah, Project Director, PMYP, appreciated and congratulated NTU on this remarkable achievement.

They acknowledged NTU’s outstanding representation and the exceptional achievement of its students at the national level.

A proud day for Ms Amna Nadeem and Ms Maira Shaikh, for their families, teachers, departments, mentors, and indeed a proud day for the entire NTU community as well.

National Textile University observed Youm-e-Istehsal (5th August) by organising a solidarity walk led by the Worthy Rector, Dr Rashid Masood, alongside the Dean SET, Dr Zulfiqar Ali and Advisor Students, Dr Danish, faculty members, officers, and staff.
The walk reflected the University's commitment to peace, justice, and human dignity while expressing solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Participants united to reaffirm the importance of dialogue, harmony, and respect for fundamental human rights.

The Office of Graduate Studies, NTU is pleased to announce the successful PhD Final Open Thesis Defense of Mr. Muhammad Jawad (Reg. No. 2021-NTU-PHCS-7004) from the Department of Computer Science, NTU, Faisalabad. Mr. Jawad successfully defended his doctoral research work titled "Development of an Evolutionary Algorithm and its Application in Textiles and Fashion"

He completed his research under the supervision of Dr. Hamid Ali, Assistant Professor, DCS, NTU and Dr. Zafar Javed, Director SoAD, NTU).

We extend our gratitude to Prof. Dr. Majid Hussain, Dean, DCS, TUF and Dr. Zulfiqar Ali NFC Institute, Faisalabad who served as the External Examiners.
