Failure is no exception on the way to success, failure is the path itself, but we walk it in silence.
People always see the end, they see success while standing in the picture, smiling, decorated with sweet words, but rarely does anyone look behind the picture or ask how the journey was. No one sees the number of times a person has sat in front of a computer screen hesitating, nor the number of emails that were opened without a reply, nor the heavy feeling that comes with only one word: Rejected.
Look at this picture, for example, this research followed the magazine from February 2024; Fadle walks in a long cycle of reviews and waits, enters the editor, appears to the reviewers, returns with edits, follows again, stops for months, moves for two days, and then stops again. Almost a whole year of working, hoping, worrying, re-phrasing, and trying to make the paper the best it can be. And in the end, after all, the decision was to say no.
Is this a flop? From afar it can be seen like that, because people only see the last line of the story. Don't you see that every step of this journey was a learning, and every comment from the references was an experience, and every wait was a test of patience. Rejection here is not a sign that you are weak, rejection means that you are in the game, because those who never try will never refuse.
The problem is that we keep comparing the scenes of our lives with the success shots of others. Let's see if someone posts a post if his research has been published, or he has reached a position, and we forget that often after this moment there are dozens of attempts that I did not conceive and did not publish. Failure is no exception on the way to success, failure is the path itself, but we walk it in silence.
If you are now stuck at a waiting point, or you feel that your tiredness is not visible, think that this is the part that no one sees, but without it there is no real success. This paper may be rejected today, but it will be accepted tomorrow in another place, and most importantly it may be your shape, your strength, and your teaching to carry on even when you're tired.
People will see the result in the other, but you are the only one who knows that you deserve it.
