Some Glimpses of Lecture on "How to Write a Good Research Article In Environmental Sciences" arranged by the Department of Environmental Sciences under the visionary leadership of Dr. Zaki-ul-Zaman Asam, Chairperson Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Gujrat, Hafiz Hayat Campus, Gujrat.

Pakistan launched a training lectures and seminar series for students, faculty and researchers. Disseminating new knowledge via writing and publishing is not only the need of time but also a core responsibility of all researchers. This lecture is obliging especially for those who are keen to learn the basic insights of research writing and publication.

Strategic Planning & Implementation Unit - SPIU, PGDP conducted a seminar on "Negative Environmental and Health Impacts of Single-Use Plastics." in Punjab Arts Council, Gujranwala. Attendees from various sectors, including large retailers, plastic producers, media representatives civil society organizations, and chamber of commerce participated in the session.

Dr. Mohsin Abbas, Assistant Professor Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Gujrat was invited as guest speaker and apprised the attendees regarding harmful impacts of Single-Use Plastics. Chairperson Department of Environmental Sciences Dr. Zaki-ul-Zaman Asam attended the awarness seminar on the behalf of Worthy Vice Chancellor, University of Gujrat, Prof. Dr. Mushaid Anwar.

We're delighted to share a momentous update from our department's recent open public seminar. Today, Mr. Muhammad Naeem, our first PhD student, successfully presented his research in an internal PhD defense (public seminar). Under the expert guidance of our esteemed Head of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Zaki-Ul-Zaman Asam, Mr. Naeem has been diligently working on his groundbreaking project.

📚 Research Topic: "Investigation of Leachate Transportation and Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Open Waste Dumping"

🌱 Addressing Waste and Greenhouse Gas Challenges: Open waste dumping is a pressing environmental issue in various parts of Pakistan, posing significant challenges. The decomposition of waste in landfills not only generates harmful leachate but also releases potent greenhouse gases like methane and carbon dioxide, contributing to environmental degradation.

Mr. Naeem's research delves deep into these environmental concerns. The seminar focused on unraveling the intricate processes behind leachate transportation and greenhouse gas emissions from open waste dumping sites. This knowledge is essential for both safeguarding our environment and devising sustainable waste management strategies to tackle the issue of greenhouse gas emissions from waste in Pakistan.
