The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Gujrat organized a seminar today focusing on the “Islamabad Dialogue” in the context of the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. The discussion centered on Pakistan’s mediating role in efforts toward a ceasefire and the prospects for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
The seminar was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Chairperson of the Department, who, in his opening remarks, highlighted the significance of diplomatic engagement in conflict resolution and underscored Pakistan’s emerging role as a responsible regional actor.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Muhammad Mubariz, Mr. Mustansir Billah, and Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Shahid. Each speaker addressed different dimensions of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and strategic positioning. Their presentations examined the complexities of the conflict, the importance of dialogue mechanisms such as the Islamabad Dialogue, and the broader implications of Pakistan’s mediation efforts at the regional and international levels.
The seminar was organized by the Hayatiya Society of Political Science and International Relations. The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty, fostering a thoughtful academic exchange on contemporary geopolitical developments.
At the conclusion of the seminar, appreciation was extended to all the speakers for their insightful contributions. Special recognition was also given to the Society for its efforts in organizing the event successfully.
The session concluded with a renewed emphasis on the importance of sustained diplomatic initiatives in addressing complex international conflicts.

🌟 Call for Nominations—Summer Internship Program 2026 at the National Assembly of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) 🌟
Exciting opportunity for BS students! The National Assembly of Pakistan has invited nominations for a six-week Summer Internship Program (June–August 2026) to gain hands-on exposure to parliamentary procedures, legislative processes, and research.
✅ Eligibility Criteria:
• Program: BS Political Science
• Semesters: 6th & 8th (only)
• Academic Requirement: Minimum CGPA 3.0 or 70% marks
• Condition: Must not have previously availed an internship at the National Assembly

بین الاقوامی دن برائے انسدادِ پُرتشدد انتہاپسندی کے موقع پر شعبۂ پولیٹیکل سائنس اینڈ انٹرنیشنل ریلیشنز، یونیورسٹی آف گجرات کے زیرِ اہتمام ایک اہم علمی سیمینار منعقد کیا گیا۔ سیمینار کا مقصد پُرتشدد انتہاپسندی کے اسباب، اس کے تدارک اور تعلیمی و سماجی اداروں کے کردار کو اجاگر کرنا تھا۔ اس پروگرام کی صدارت ڈاکٹر محمد مشتاق، چیئرپرسن شعبۂ پولیٹیکل سائنس اینڈ انٹرنیشنل ریلیشنز نے کی۔پروگرام کے دوران پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور حسین بخاری نے کلیدی خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پُرتشدد انتہاپسندی کو محض قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں کا مسئلہ سمجھنا ناکافی ہے۔ اس کے پسِ منظر میں فکری انتشار، سیاسی و سماجی محرومیاں اور عالمی سطح پر پیدا ہونے والی پیچیدگیاں کارفرما ہوتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ جامعات تحقیق، مکالمے اور تنقیدی سوچ کے فروغ کے ذریعے نوجوان نسل کو مثبت سمت فراہم کرنے میں بنیادی کردار ادا کر سکتی ہیں۔اسلامیات ڈپارٹمنٹ سے ڈاکٹر مفتی حسیب الرحمن نے اظہارِ خیال کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اسلام کی حقیقی تعلیمات امن، اعتدال اور رواداری کا درس دیتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ مذہبی متون کی درست اور ذمہ دارانہ تعبیر ہی انتہاپسندانہ نظریات کا مؤثر توڑ فراہم کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے علماء اور اساتذہ پر زور دیا کہ وہ نوجوانوں کی رہنمائی میں اپنا فعال کردار ادا کریں۔سیمینار کے اختتام پر سوال و جواب کا سیشن منعقد ہوا جس میں طلبہ و طالبات نے بھرپور شرکت کی۔ مقررین نے شرکاء کے سوالات کے جامع اور مدلل جوابات دیے۔تقریب کے اختتام پر ڈاکٹر سلطان مبارز نے ووٹ آف تھینکس ادا کرتے ہوئے معزز مہمانوں، مقررین اور شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ پروگرام خوشگوار اور سنجیدہ علمی ماحول میں اختتام پذیر ہوا اور اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا گیا کہ معاشرے میں امن، برداشت اور مکالمے کے فروغ کے لیے اس نوعیت کی سرگرمیاں جاری رکھی جائیں گی۔ نظامت کے فرائض ڈاکٹر محمد رمضان شاہد نے انجام دیے۔
