Legal Eagle Society of Law Department, organized an important seminar on “Media Ethics and Journalism” in which renowned journalist Saboor Qureshi, BBC Anchor Rifatullah Aurangzeb, and Senior Correspondent Daily Dawn, Mohammad Sadaqat, gave special talks. A large number of law students, teachers and experts from other departments participated in this seminar.
Speakers in the seminar highlighted the important aspects of ethical principles of media and integrity in journalism. Saboor Qureshi briefed the participants on the role of the media and its social responsibilities, while Rifatullah Aurangzeb gave a detailed discussion on the requirements of independence and impartiality of the media. Mohammad Sadaqat described the challenges faced in modern journalism and ways to maintain the correct quality of news delivery.
The registrar of the university, Mr. Riyaz Muhammad, in the seminar emphasized on the growing importance of media and the ethical principles associated with it and said that journalism should play a key role in highlighting public issues, and encouraged young journalists. That they present the facts with impartiality so that a positive change can be made in the society.
The aim of the seminar was to make students aware of the responsibilities of the media and its ethical principles, so that they can make better decisions in the field of journalism in the future and develop social awareness.
