Sindh’s MDCAT 2026 was conducted today across the province, with more than 34,000 candidates appearing at examination centres in different cities. The test was held under the supervision of SIBA Testing Services, with arrangements made to ensure a transparent and smooth examination process.
During today’s MDCAT, Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh reportedly became unconscious after spending hours overseeing the examination arrangements in the intense heat and carrying the responsibility of such a major test. His condition drew attention as students and families appreciated his presence and commitment during the examination.
Under the arrangements, around 10,964 candidates were registered in Karachi, 5,000 in Hyderabad, 4,626 in Jamshoro, 2,093 in Mirpurkhas, 2,562 in Shaheed Benazirabad, 3,123 in Larkana and 5,556 in Sukkur, while an additional centre was established in Islamabad for eligible Sindh-domiciled candidates.
Sukkur IBA has increasingly become associated with transparency and merit in major testing processes in Sindh. After previous controversies surrounding MDCAT examinations, the responsibility of conducting the test was given to SIBA Testing Services, with strict arrangements introduced to protect the integrity of the examination.
Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh has also publicly emphasized that examination papers must remain secure and that he considers himself accountable for maintaining transparency. His reported commitment to staying personally involved in the process has earned appreciation from many students and families.
Today’s MDCAT once again highlighted the importance of transparent testing, strong administration and responsible leadership. Students and members of the public have expressed appreciation for Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh and the SIBA team for their efforts in conducting the examination.
