We are proud to share that our outstanding team from the Institute of Law (IOL) has embarked on an incredible journey to represent us at the eminent International Bar Association International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (IBA ICC) 2024! The competition will be held in The Hague, Netherlands, the heart of international justice.

Congratulations to our remarkable team! ๐ŸŽ‰

We are thrilled to announce that the IOL team, comprising of Fawad Ali, Hena Parmar, Iqra Khowaja, and Faraz Habib, under the supervision of Mr. Arun Barkat as Coach, have qualified for the Oral Rounds of the prestigious Nuremberg Moot Court Competition, 2024 organised by the International Nuremberg Principles Academy and the International Criminal Law Research Unit at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

The team from our Institute is the ONLY TEAM from Pakistan to advance to the Oral Rounds of the Competition which will take place in Germany this July. Moreover, the team is placed amongst the TOP 5 teams in the world out of around 150 teams that submitted their memorials. Their dedication, hard work, and exceptional skills have truly set a new benchmark for excellence.

We are incredibly proud of their success and wish them all the best for the upcoming Oral Rounds. Your journey is an inspiration to us all, and we are confident that you will continue to shine on the global stage.

The Jessup Competition is the worldโ€™s largest and most prestigious moot court competition, and the oldest moot court competition dedicated to international law. The competition attracts students from over 550 law schools in more than 80 countries.

It gives us immense pleasure to share that three teams from the Institute of Law along with members of the IOL Moot Court Committee namely, Sir Arun Barkat, Ma'am Rehana Anjum and Sir Danish Bashir Mangi visited the office of the Respected Dean Faculty of Law, University of Sindh, Sir Jhamat Jethanand to apprise him of their accomplishments.

The first team, comprised of Mr. Dildar Ali, Ms. Sawera Burriro and Ms. Maheen Memon under the supervision of Sir Danish Bashir Mangi, stood third in the 15th Henry Dunant IHL Moot Court Competition, 2023 organized by the ICRC while also winning the Best Researcher Award.

The second team consisting of Mr. Faraz Habib, Mr. Kashif Memon and Mr. Agha Faraz Ahmed with Sir Riyasat Ali as coach performed exceptionally in the 1st National Moot Court Competition, 2023 organized by the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, in addition to clinching the Spirit of Mooting Award.

The third team composed of Mr. Baibras Adil, Mr. Najmuddin Baloch and Ms. Duaa Tahir under the guidance of Ma'am Rehana Anjum emerged as semi-finalists in the 2nd Denning National Moot Court Competition, 2023 organized by the Denning Law School, and also secured the Best Memorial Award.

The Honourable Dean highly appreciated the efforts of the teams as well as the members of the Moot Court Committee. While emphasizing the importance of participation in such competitions, the Worthy Dean reaffirmed IOL's commitment to nurturing talent, polishing skills and pursuing academic excellence.

We are delighted to share the remarkable achievements of our team in the 2nd Denning National Moot Court Competition organized by the Denning Law School in Karachi from 13th to 15th October, 2023. The team, composed of Mr. Baibras Adil, Mr. Najmuddin Baloch, and Ms. Duaa Tahir under the esteemed guidance of Ma'am Rehana Anjum, performed incredibly in this prestigious competition that witnessed the participation of more than 20 teams from across Pakistan. The team not only emerged as semi-finalists but also secured the coveted Best Memorial Award which is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and excellent legal acumen.

Following intense Preliminary Rounds, our team directly qualified for the Quarter-Finals, alongside three other teams, while the remaining four were selected through the Eliminator Rounds. The team's performance in the Quarters was truly exceptional, marked by their outstanding oral advocacy and profound legal skills, earning them a spot in the Semi-Finals where they shone brightly.

We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to witnessing their continued success in the mooting arena. Congratulations all!

We are thrilled to share that our team comprising of Mr. Faraz Habib, Mr. Kashif Memon and Mr. Agha Faraz Ahmed, with Sir Riyasat Ali as coach, performed phenomenally in the 1st National Moot Court Competition organized by the Law Department of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, KPK from 20-21 September, 2023.

The team was one of the few across Pakistan to qualify for the Oral Rounds and was awarded the prestigious "Spirit of Mooting Award" in acknowledgment of their excellent performance, competitiveness and camaraderie.

Better late than never!

It is with great pride we announce that Team IOL successfully participated in the 15th Henry Dunant IHL Moot Court Competition organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross Pakistan in Islamabad from 19-21 September, 2023.

The competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious moot courts in Pakistan. The team consisted of Mr. Dildar Ali Simair, Ms. Sawera Burriro and Ms. Maheen Memon under the expert coaching of Sir Danish Bashir Mangi and was amongst the 12 distinguished teams that qualified to participate after a rigorous pre-selection process.

The team illustrated a profound understanding of International Humanitarian Law and performed exceptionally during the Oral Rounds of the competition which were further supplemented by Role Plays aimed at testing practical knowledge of the participants. Our team ranked third overall while Ms. Sawera Burriro also received the Best Researcher Award in recognition of her outstanding performance.

We warmly congratulate the team on this remarkable achievement and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
