The Department of Medicine, Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad, organized a scientific session focusing on contemporary approaches to Diabetes Mellitus, Lifestyle Medicine, Metabolic Wellness, and Tirzepatide Therapy.

The scientific programme featured three insightful presentations delivered by distinguished faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany, Professor of Medicine and Chairperson, Department of Medicine & Allied, Isra University Hyderabad, delivered a presentation titled “Lifestyle Medicine in Diabetes Mellitus — Prevention, Lifestyle Modification and Remission.” His presentation highlighted the importance of lifestyle interventions, preventive strategies, and sustainable behavioural modifications in improving diabetes outcomes and achieving remission where appropriate.

Dr. Ghulam Fareed Memon presented “Twincretin — A Paradigm Shift in Metabolic Wellness,” discussing the evolving role of twincretin therapy and its potential impact on the management of metabolic disorders.

Dr. Saima Jatoi delivered a presentation titled “Role of Tirzepatide in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea,” highlighting emerging evidence and the potential role of tirzepatide in patients with obesity-related metabolic and sleep disorders.

During the concluding segment, Prof. Hameedullah Kazi, Chancellor, Isra University Hospital, addressed the gathering and shared his valuable reflections on the scientific programme. Mr. Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Graces Dengue Awareness Seminar at Isra University

Isra University, Hyderabad, organized a Dengue Awareness Walk, Technical Session, and Awareness Seminar on September 9, 2026, to raise awareness about dengue fever, its prevention, early detection, and the importance of community participation in controlling the spread of the disease.

The programme commenced with a Dengue Awareness Walk from Academic Block-A to the Asadullah Kazi Auditorium, bringing together university faculty, students, medical professionals, and distinguished guests to demonstrate their collective commitment to dengue prevention and public health awareness. Dr. Syed Mushtaque Ahmed Shah, Deputy Director General, Health Services, Vector-Borne Diseases, along with officials from the Health Department, also participated in the walk.

Upon arrival at the university, the Chief Guest, Mr. Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, Deputy Commissioner, Hyderabad, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain Shah, District Health Officer, Hyderabad, met with Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Worthy Vice Chancellor, Isra University, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. The meeting provided an opportunity for the distinguished guests and university leadership to exchange views on public health awareness and the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing dengue and other community health concerns.
Following the meeting, the Technical Session and Awareness Seminar commenced at the Asadullah Kazi Auditorium, featuring informative presentations and discussions by distinguished international and national medical experts. The international speakers included Dr. Ayaz Samdhani, Renowned Physician, USA, and Dr. Haider Ali Talpur, Renowned Physician, UK, while the national speaker was Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Medical Officer, THQ Hospital Nagarparkar. Lt. Col. Dr. Azam, CMH Hyderabad, also delivered an informative talk.

The technical session focused on dengue prevention, public health measures, early detection, awareness, and the important role of individuals and communities in reducing the spread of the disease.

A panel discussion was also held, featuring distinguished members of the Department of Medicine, including Prof. Dr. M. Adnan Bawany, Prof. Dr. Akbar Memon, Dr. Ghulam Fareed, Dr. Hafsa Urooj, and Dr. Akram Muneer, with Dr. Maham Khan serving as the moderator. The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Rehmat, providing a structured platform for meaningful clinical dialogue and the exchange of valuable perspectives.
A concise, real-world clinical case was presented by Dr. Farzana, highlighting the practical challenges involved in the assessment and management of thromboembolic disease. This was followed by a detailed and insightful discussion led by Dr. Hafsa Urooj, further enriched by the active participation and valuable clinical perspectives of distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany, Prof. Dr. Akber Memon, Dr. Saima Siraj, Dr. Ghulam Fareed Memon, and Dr. Akram Munir. World Physiotherapy Day 2026

A memorable celebration of World Physiotherapy Day 2026 was held on 8th September 2026 at Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad, to promote awareness about the importance of physiotherapy among patients, RHOs, and students.

The event was organized by Dr. Aiman Iftikhar, Dr. Isra Ilyas, and Dr. Syed Khizer Abbas, Consultants Physiotherapists, and attended by honourable guests Prof. Dr. Naveed Kazi, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Prof. Dr. Salman Kazi, and Prof. Dr. Yaar Muhammad, along with senior doctors, staff, RHOs, and students.

NEONATAL RESUSCITATION WORKSHOP AT ISRA UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

I sra University Hospital recently hosted a comprehensive Neonatal Resuscitation Workshop, a certified course aimed at enhancing neonatal care at isra university hospital.The event was held on 25 and 27 August 2026 at the Isra University hospital.

The workshop, organized for house officers, post graduate trainees and nursing staff from Isra University Hospital. The worshop featured a two-hour, hands-on training session. The course was meticulously coordinated by Colonel Dr. Imran Ahmad associate professor along with Dr Abdul basit memon as co-facilitaotor and supervised by Prof. Dr. Yasmin Memon and prof aamir iqbal memon. A total of 60 participants attended, engaging in a practical, audiovisual-based session focused on neonatal resuscitation techniques, utilizing advanced manikins for skill-building.

The course content was designed to ensure participants received in-depth knowledge and practical experience in neonatal care, enhancing their ability to respond effectively in critical neonatal emergencies.

A pre & post-workshop test was conducted to assess participants' learning outcomes. Successful candidates were awarded certificates by Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director Isra University hospital in recognition of their commitment to excellence in neonatal care and emphasizing the importance of such training programs for healthcare professionals.

The event was a resounding success, with all participants expressing their satisfaction and appreciation for the quality of instruction and hands-on experience provided.
