🌟 **Academic Milestones in Applied Mathematics at Mehran University** 🌟

On Tuesday 24/08/2026, the Prof. Makhdoom Muhammad Dawood Seminar Hall at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, was abuzz with scholarly discussions and groundbreaking research presentation. Starting from 12.30PM, we successfully conducted the initial and first progressive PhD seminars in Applied Mathematics under the auspices of the BSRS department.

This seminar showcased the innovative work of our dedicated researchers (Ms. Tasneem Aliya, and Mr. Khalid Hussain Jamali), contributing to the ever-expanding field of Applied Mathematics. The event highlighted the depth and breadth of knowledge being cultivated at Mehran University, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence. We are truly grateful to Prof. Dr. Syed Feroz Shah for being internal and Dr. Sumera Dero (Assistant Professor, IMCS, University of Sindh) for her gracious presence as an external for the seminars.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the presenters and express our gratitude to everyone who attended and supported this enriching academic event. Here's to more achievements and the continued pursuit of knowledge!

The second session of the Research Skill Development Workshop Series was successfully conducted today by Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Shaikh from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The session focused on essential research concepts, including what is research, types of research, problem statement, research gap, research objectives, key elements of research methodology, references and citations, and plagiarism. The interactive session provided participants with a valuable foundation for understanding and conducting effective academic research.

Research Skill Development Workshop Series — First Session

The first session of the Research Skill Development Workshop Series (LaTeX and Research Methodology) was successfully conducted today (13/08/2026) at the Department of Basic Sciences & Related Studies (BSRS), MUET.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sania Qureshi, Associate Professor of Mathematics, and was attended by enthusiastic students from 23BSM and 22BSM. The students actively participated in the session and thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience.

The workshop aims to strengthen students’ research skills, academic writing, and understanding of LaTeX and research methodology.

A wonderful beginning to this Objective of BSRS for 2026!

MUMS Oath-Taking Ceremony & Welcome Party 2026

Today(11/08/2026), Makhdoom Hall, MUET, witnessed a memorable and vibrant event organized by the Mehran University Mathematics Society (MUMS) under the auspices of the Department of Basic Sciences and Related Studies (BSRS).

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an insightful speech by Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Shaikh. The Chairman, BSRS, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwar Solangi, also addressed the gathering and shared his valuable thoughts and best wishes with the students.

The event featured two important agendas: the Oath-Taking Ceremony of MUMS 2026–2027, marking the beginning of a new journey for the newly elected office bearers, and a warm Welcome Party for the 26BSM batch, welcoming the new students into the Mathematics family.

The event was attended by Dr. Sania Qureshi, several other faculty members, and enthusiastic students representing each batch of the BSM program. The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate leadership, welcome the new batch, and strengthen the sense of community among students and faculty.

Congratulations to the new MUMS team and a very warm welcome to 26BSM! We wish them a successful, inspiring, and memorable journey ahead.

Alhamdulillah! By the infinite mercy and blessings of Almighty Allah, I am delighted to share that I have received the appointment order for the post of Lecturer in Mathematics (BPS-17) at the Constituent College, Government College University Hyderabad.

This achievement would not have been possible without the countless blessings of Allah Almighty, the prayers of my parents and family, the guidance of my respected teachers, and the unwavering support and encouragement of my mentors, colleagues, friends, students, and well-wishers. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey.

I pray that Allah Almighty rewards all of you abundantly, grants you and your families good health, happiness, barakah, and continued success in both this life and the Hereafter.

The event highlighted the depth and breadth of knowledge being cultivated at Mehran University, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence. They worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Syed Shah Feroz Shah, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Shaikh, Dr. Sania Qureshi, Dr. fozia, and Dr. Prem Kumar.

Starting from 10.15AM, we successfully conducted the final MPhil seminar in Applied Mathematics under the auspices of the BSRS department.

This seminar showcased the innovative work of our dedicated researcher (Ms. Kubra Nizamani), contributing to the ever-expanding field of Applied Mathematics. The event highlighted the depth and breadth of knowledge being cultivated at Mehran University, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence. The title of her thesis is "A Semi-Analytical Approach for Solving Nonlinear Reaction-Diffusion Michaelis-Menten Equation Using Temimi-Ansari Method". She worked under the supervision of Dr. Sania Qureshi and Cosupervision of Dr. Sumera Dero.
